can anyone confirm if the 2nd and 3rd year warranty is by nikon or by harvey norman ?

It is by Harvey Norman and it does not including cleaning. I confrimed with the staff before. Also warranty only covers within the normal lifespan/usage of the camera e.g yr shutter replacement may not be free even within warranty if you abuse it.

My friend bought D70 kit at $1988 (Sitex show) today. Inclusive of all the freebies. (1gb Ultra with another 1gb extreme) thrown in. How to avoid not buying?....I wished I had a little more patience.....

I seriously don't know where you get your prices from, $1630 w/ GST, according to VERY accurate news source, AP has not sold any set below $1680 w/ GST YET.

Hey softvoice, well, it's not replacement for D70 Nikon's DSLRs generally have a life of about 3-4 yrs before they get replaced

Price drops are happening always as technology and R&D gets better, just like Intel chips & AMD chips

u get tax rebate is that why u get it at $1630..... I calculate price w/o gst $1600 with GST 5% would be $1680....after rebate tax would be ard $1630region.... if thats the case.... please state it...
