Arsenal Football Club - The Gunner's Thread 3

They blew it again. A defensive error gifted them the equalizer...

Season yet to start but i think Arsenal season gone already....

Some positive news
- Ryo Miyaichi has been granted the work permit he needed to stay in the UK and play for Arsenal!

Let's hope the club's fate is more alive than this thread but as of now, I already got the sinking feeling ...
Maybe it's better for us to miss the UCL altogether; with our tendency of relative high incidence of injuries and other problems, maybe it's better to concentrate domestically and build our base from there ...

Interesting ... we've just levelled the score at 1-1, away at Udinese; go Gunners!

Seems like the game has come alive ... Antonio Di Natale missed a penalty and Walcott scored one; now aggregate score is 1-3 ...

Relief to say the least. We are now in the Champions' League proper. i'll be anticipating the group draw.

next up. Man Utd.

Minor setback of a loss to Manu in the last game, season is not gone case yet.
i am sure glad the Prof is going into "Football Manager" mode to add muscle to the skin & bones injury prone team.

Not so minor but desperate. Wenger played his final card as he drew a 20 player shopping list: Chu-Young Park, Per Mertesacker and Andre Santos, Rennes holding midfielder Yann M'Vila, winger Marvin Martin from Sochaux, Everton duo Marouane Fellaini and Mikel Arteta, Bolton Wanderers' Gary Cahill, Rovers' Christopher Samba, Everton's Phil Jagielka, Eden Hazard, Sochaux playmaker Marvin Martin, Borussia Dortmund's Mario Gotze, Lazio forward Mauro Zarate, Chelsea duo Yossi Benayoun and Florent Malouda.

Per Mertesacker is leaving my own fave team and joining Arsenal... A tall, tall defender that frustrated Chelsea and he's dangerous with headers from corners too.

Good morning, a great night for the gooners as the gunners added 4 players overnight.

Man U did goon a favor.....spur AW into action. Nobody have expected him to move so fast. Behind every crisis, is an opportunity.

I wouldn't attribute that lost as a major factor to push AW into making desperate buys, afterall, majority of the fans are baying for his blood for quite a while now.
I have friends boasting about the trashing, and claiming credit for a new Arsenal improvement. It's just as good as saying Arsenal won the league back then on
Old Trafford grounds, so that Manu are the team they are today. Far-fetched, but similar claims. HAHAHA

Arsenal fans are entitled to ask why, with Kroenke and Alisher Usmanov, two of the richest men in the world, as their majority shareholders, the club are now failing to compete when it comes to wages and transfers.

Why would Arsenal need Arteta to lower his wage by £10,000/week before the deal can be completed? I can understand if Arteta came from Manchester City but Everton? Come on.

That's why i felt the main stumbling block over getting the players, is the board itself and not AW. Many people are calling for the head Wenger, but in actual fact, he's under instructions from his pay masters, little much he can do besides trying to maintain his job and pride. The folks behind pulling the strings and approving budgets, player salaries and so on are the main culprits for Arsenal not being active on the transfer market i guess. Lots of talk "we have the money to buy"...but nothing. Wayang.

Drogba's gonna be suspended for the Arsenal's game, right?
