Arsenal Football Club - The Gunner's Thread 3

Yeah, for now and for me, it doesn't matter whether we can win the only title that's left ... I just hope the team will fight all the way to the end, despite the injuries, fatigue and disappointments because to me, they are all excuses ... we're not having this problem exclusively; every team from Man U to the potential relegation teams ...

Come on Gunners! Fight to the end!

Its been pretty quiet here lately but tonight we should start cheering for our team again! in case some of u are still disappointed with the recent results, look again. we actually stand a good chance of winning the league as we have no other competiton as distraction now. common' man, let's cheer for our team tonight!

Still an Arsenal supporter, but I resolute not to buy any Arsenal jerseys or related merchandise until they win at least one trophy.

Fabregas, Walcott, Song back ! Hopefully + RVP...we will be strong again. :)

Glad its 3 points in the bag. Anyone has the highlights of the game (which is not DailyMotion videos) ?

Arsenal will draw or lose to Liverpool, get thrashed by Man U, and never hold a Cup this season. Yet again.

We lost to WEST BROM leh. Dun speak too soon. The ball is round, anything can happen. Lol.

What happened? I just saw the penalty scored just now... (while having supper at Kallang Mac)

Sheesh... all last minute... and I tot I was pretty happy leaving when I saw the team scored a goal... haiz.

We should serve fries together with the league title.

Haiz ... what's new? I think we need a new injection, in belief as well as players ...

It's all over now

Sheesh. It was over a long time ago. Our season ended when we lost the first few matches against Man U.
We never had the gumption to 'go for the throat'. And I think we never will. Untill we change a coach.
I like Wenger for all his forward thinking, and all that he has done for the club. I just dont think we can match the winning spirit and killer instinct that Man U has.

This team needs change, new players and possible a new manager. We had the whole 90mins and we could only scored from a penalty. Yes the referee was crazy n went on to 100 min . Yes eboure was stupid, he had made stupid mistakes many times n cost us points ... But if the players had more ambitiion and be more down to earth n willing to score simple tap-ins then we wouldnt have been in this position now. how many times when we are trying to score the perfect goals and end up scoring none? Frankly speaking, Manu are consistent n possess the qualities for winning games. and ferguson knows what are the fundamentals for winning the league. Well Next season is just around the corner, let's hope it's going to be a promising one.

That is a really interesting point you brought up, I agree that this team somehow lacks the mental strength to close out games.

But I wonder how, if any, has the coaching changed from the era of the invincibles to this current team. If the philosophy has remained the same since the the coaching staff is mainly the same, then what is the reason for the poor mental strength of this batch?

The perception has been put forth by (was it) Nani or that French defender (both from Man U) that Arsenal are nothing but a 'training school' for footballers. This, including the other taunts and lack of trophies instills a lack of killer instinct.

Added the fact that we have to recall Lehmann, and score plenty of own goals, is a recipe for disaster.

If you also notice, when we draw or lose, we concede first, only to score late after 70min's or so.
We can score at the 45 - 55min mark. Then concede at the 70-85min mark.
Now, that is a team who does not have the killer instinct.

Look at Man U. Do they rotate their keepers? Do they ever, ever recall their old keepers?
Look at how Rooney celebrates his goals. Look at how Van Persie & Arasharvin celebrates. Do the Arsenal faces look like they can eat you up? NOPE.

Rooney's face is such that of a raging bull.

Our's lack the confidence. The Ommph. The face that Keown, Wright, Vieira had when they scored, or fell behind.

Oh well guys.

As the commentator said "Going, going .....gone."

Just hope we don't roll over and give up when Man U comes to the Emirates.

Looking forward to the summer transfers.
