There are many ways to view the situation, but i hope he bring in tough players. Eversince Vieira's "red card fiasco" which competitors keep sour grapes harping about during those winning seasons, i can't believe the team has toned down to a whimper. It was during those aggressive days that they actually won stuff.
They need more steel in team. They need a big character who's more vocal and a leader , rather than one who may be very skillful. Rvp has the aggression, but he doesnt really step up day in day out, plus with injuries, it's difficult. Sol came close, but not a villain enough. Gallas seemed like a villain, trying to 'lead' the team, but lacked respect from the team mates, having more negatives than positives.
No one else comes close in leading the team, the rest are pretty quiet, just like passengers. We need players like Vieira, Tony Adams, Parlour, Keown, Henry, Ian Wright, big personalities who are not afraid to get hands dirty and get the job done, earning the respect through hard work.
Perhaps, with luck, Kosci or Chamakh might just grow into the role with gritty never say die displays. Vermalan looked promising at first, but he's doesnt seem to stand out enough at the moment. Arshavin showed flashes, a little talkative, but not exactly a barnstormer. Wilshere and Rambo is promising, should let them play more, if the seniors cant deliver, its time to blood the youngsters.
we need more bite. :bsmilie:
