Arsenal Football Club - The Gunner's Thread 3

I was LOL when Reina scooped the ball into his own net. Karma for his big mouth and sticking his nose into Cesc-gate. God couldn't have scripted it better.:bsmilie:

Granted the FA Cup and the Mickey-Mouse Cup are lower priority, winning one of those will help instill more confidence in the young team. Once they had a taste victory, it could motivate them more to work harder for the real trophies that AW so sought after. The existing squad is extremely fragile mentally. A few good games, become complacent. And a few bad ones they crumble.

What I dislike about AW's policy about playing the 2nd-string or reserves in the lesser Cup tournament is that when we reach the quarters or semis, he continues to stubbornly field the same gina-pee. Its like sending them to the slaughter house. Their confidence get crushed, and we go home empty handed, for another season. FFS, when we reach that stage, put in more senior players! We want to see the DESIRE to WIN!

There are many ways to view the situation, but i hope he bring in tough players. Eversince Vieira's "red card fiasco" which competitors keep sour grapes harping about during those winning seasons, i can't believe the team has toned down to a whimper. It was during those aggressive days that they actually won stuff.

They need more steel in team. They need a big character who's more vocal and a leader , rather than one who may be very skillful. Rvp has the aggression, but he doesnt really step up day in day out, plus with injuries, it's difficult. Sol came close, but not a villain enough. Gallas seemed like a villain, trying to 'lead' the team, but lacked respect from the team mates, having more negatives than positives.

No one else comes close in leading the team, the rest are pretty quiet, just like passengers. We need players like Vieira, Tony Adams, Parlour, Keown, Henry, Ian Wright, big personalities who are not afraid to get hands dirty and get the job done, earning the respect through hard work.

Perhaps, with luck, Kosci or Chamakh might just grow into the role with gritty never say die displays. Vermalan looked promising at first, but he's doesnt seem to stand out enough at the moment. Arshavin showed flashes, a little talkative, but not exactly a barnstormer. Wilshere and Rambo is promising, should let them play more, if the seniors cant deliver, its time to blood the youngsters.

we need more bite. :bsmilie:

Nasri out for a month due to injury. :bheart: ;(

Sigh, we also lost Frimpong for likely the rest of the season, I thought he was pretty impressive and can be a backup for Song this season.

Duno what's wrong with me recently. Always typing in wrong thing. :(

It's our first home game at the Emirates! I just hope we don't under-estimate Blackpool ....

Go Gunners!

Woo hoo! We're 3 goals up @ HT! Really hope Chamakh will get at least a goal ... quite like the lad; unselfish and good presence!

Go Gunners!

Bet on a 2-1 score considering Blackpool's impressive performance last game. Tough luck getting a player sent off, now Arsenal is going to pound them hard.

Although he didn't score, I must say Rosicky was quite effective stringing the attacks, hope he's back to his form.

WoW!!! ARSENAL 6-0 Blackpool!!! :D

Yeah, it was a stroll in the park for us ... Rosicky had another great game, hope he'll be scoring soon; that fella deserves it!

Walcott was awesome. Luv his 2nd goal.

Seems like we're not the only that scored 6 over the weekend ... Chelsea and Newcastle did the same too! What a goal fest!
