So the 1D does get upgraded first and the earliest it will be available is Mar 2012. Looks like there's still life in our 5D2.

Yup. So we have until Mar 2012, then all the 5D mk 2’s worldwide will spontaneously stop working, and we will have to rush to buy Canon’s latest offering!

Actually I won’t be surprised if some people act like 5D2s are useless already, when the new cameras are out.

price won't drop that much lah... if it does, i will snap up one 5D2.

Well i just sold my 7d body and 17-40l just to get this bad ass body. It was a long wait. From 450D - 60D - 7D -then finally 5D2
Shall i say that going full frame is a big leap in image quality eventhough i sacrificed the new technology from 7D.
Imho going on 5D1 or 5d2 is a great decision that i made. Its like becoming little boy to a big boy now.

Haha now i dont have any lens atm after selling my stuff. I grabbed 50 1.8 just to have a lens to use. Well i think its another wait before i get my hands again to either 17-40 or 24-105 lens.
For a hobbyist, weekend shooter and not earning from photography im didnt regret doing the upgrade. Image quality and skill is what im after.

Primes will bring out the great Depth of Field control of Full frames
isn't DOF a function of aperture and sensor size - in what way does having primes help say given the same focal range, aperture and same body?
