Anyone still doing or interested in Large Format?

Yay my lens arrived!

The board and the lens are really tiny, now I need to look for a Sinar lens board, probably Copal #0, but I'll go measure later.

I have a spare Copal 0. :)

Did you manage to find out the specs of the lens? More importantly, what's the flange distance and what's the image circle size?

Should be okay, at most there will be some vignetting ...

I can't find any specifications for Horseman Super 120/5.6. As far as i know Horseman "super" line is designed to cover 4x5. But will i have any movements possible with this lens?

I DO use the 75mm on my 4x5 but only for the vignetting effect. Very pronounced with that size image circle. Cool wide-angle image, though. Of the "Super" lenses, the 120 has the sharpest corners when used for 4x5. Some of the other "Supers" have a big enough 'light' circle for 4x5 but loose some sharpness at the corners.

No idea how to take apart the lens, unscrewed front and rear element, but the SEIKO SLV shutter seems to be bound onto that tiny board.

Try not to unscrew the cells. The alignment is critical.

To take out the shutter unit, you'll need a lens wrench or spanner. I also have one if you need.

Meh, I'll wait for the next outing. (If there is one hopefully).

Anyways I've mass-ed scotchtaped the lens onto a piece of cardboard and its beautiful!
Now I need a proper lens board and a cut film holder. I can make do with the tripod for low angles :3

EDIT: Man, my ground glass sucks. So many scratches! Hahaha.

Waah ... I see you're taking my cardboard suggestion to the MAX! :sweatsm:

You could also try plywood, or hardwoods!

Wax your GG. It won't get rid of the scratches, but it will fill in the crevices some, giving the illusion of less deep scratches. Anyways, after awhile, you won't really notice the scratches anymore if you don't let it bother you.

Another outing...sure! As for the rest of the group, see who's still interested lah. Wait for the rest to get back from the N Day looong weekend first. :bsmilie:
