Yo Nicole,

Was that a bee in your pic 1? Awesome. How did you manage to capture it? Were you using a long lens? I'm personally afraid of being stung :sweatsm:.

Cheers

Somehow I think using the Powershot S30 easier to do panoramic then the DSLR. I did a few while I was in Mauritius and all look ok. Must learn from the proz how to do the stitch properly with DSLR.

死 Kelvin, say as if I so chee hong... :sticktong Juz j/k ah... :D
But ur 2nd pics horizon a bit slanted... Taken free hand ah?

Yeah the two pics taken purely free hand. I borrowed my dad's Canon S30 for the trip and didn't bring a tripod. Under the circumstances, without post corrections, I thought it was so-so. But looks better than when I try using a DSLR. Sian man!

Acutally, using a P&S, stitching is easy, as long as you remember to take at least 10% of the last frame into your picture. Best to use tripod.

I just found out from a book by John Hedgecoe that taking Pano, you should avoid using wide angle lens as this might distort the image. He recommends 80mm and above.

I tried using a tripod with my shots at Kent Ridge and like Yi Liang, couldn't stitch it together. But with a powershot, so easy. Must be something wrong in our techniques. :bsmilie:

use photomerge option in ps (file -> automate -> photomerge). select files and smile ;)

... if not last time i used the canon stitching app that comes with my old a40... works well too :)

But before that, all photos must be taken with AE lock, rite? I need to cfm on this AE Lock... Coz, I tried using AE lock, then I used PS fotomerge... I haf the same prob as Kelvin... There is a line of deeper colours where the photos overlap... Then YC mention that haf to remove it using PS again...

Is it realli necessary if we taken pics using AE Lock?

AE lock should be fine. another probability may be due to the uneven exposure caused by vignetting. perhaps stopping down the aperture should solve the problem?

share some noob takes with u guys ^^
