Err. Where exactly does one get a bottle of Cloudy Bay Sauv Blanc for $48? I've usually picked up for much higher...
And does anyone know a good place for other Kiwi wines? Never seen any Gibbston Valley, Peregrine etc around here. All you see is Cloudy Bay (which is great), Oyster Bay (good, but not in the league of Cloudy Bay) and Shingle Peak (you're broke, but you want Kiwi Sauv Blanc)

i used to like new world.. but now much prefer rhone, burgundy and cote rotie. bordeaux is still nice, specially right bank. but prices for the good stuff have been getting nosebleedingly high.
german rieslings also offer very good value for money.

Crystalwines selling it at $48 only when on offer otherwise it's about $54.

IIRC, 1995 was the year one of the best in its series.....
after taste of fine dusted dark chocolate!!!!! Extremely addictive.... unfortunately i finished the last bottle at Red Cellars (Cellar Rouge)..... :cry: now can't buy one to keep

All these vintage years must be quite expensive, lah. Wait, let me sell my camera and lenses to buy a bottle or two. :bsmilie: :bsmilie:
i opened the bottle at red cellars....was 100++ i think....
if u can find it outside and buy from the dealers direct...alot cheaper....

Someone sold this 1995 Shiraz together with 7 other vintage for a total of $640.

You can also try: Kabinett, Spatlese, Auslese, Eiswein, Beerenauslese, Trokenbeerenauslese..

Try port wine as well. Its sweet like icewine. Brown brothers also have flavored wines.
But basically I just go for cheap and quantity stuff.
Prefer Shiraz because it is the most grapy in my opinion, unless on a date then I go for merlot or sauvignon because most ladies hate shiraz. For dates, I find bordeux a good bet, sweet and mild.Shop & Save has the most dirt-cheap wines that starts at $10.95 a bottle. I can't tell the difference between the expensive and cheap wine except the first is more hard to swallow.

Do you have lobangs for greek wine? I've been searching (not that hard.. hahaha) ever since my fave greek restaurant was taken over by chat masala.
There's this extremely unique red this is sweet.. sort of a cross between a red and a sweet white.. fruity yet mellow
P.S. $$ on life's lil pleasures is $$ well spent!!
