What sort of Tripod do you use ?

Any recommendations ? Something light, 1.55~1.6 m (Fully extended) ... Compact < 0.5m (Retracted) stable enough for the 7Hi.

Check out the new Slik Sprint Pro GM. Using it now. Good height, Can take the weight. Ball head (Although not quick release tho), but can change in the future if you want.

ooi snapper...before you buy most impt thing is make sure the tripod is stable and is TALL enuff for you. don't compromise on the height if you have to stoop down :D best if 3 way also and the weight lorr....these are the main considerations :D so when u gonna try out your new r filter huh

THe Slik Pro GM Sprint tripod can take the 7hi well?

That was very nice .... but they said that the tripod may not be able to take the weight of the 7HI. The price is OK ... at S$95 (high for me) ... but the next tripod ... from GIZMO (I think) is at S$450 .... yeeeks ... that scared me ....

The Pro GM Is pretty good ... tried it out it is quite ok ... but the legs ... slim ... the height is also very good ... well ... not even planning on anything more than S$100.

I think the slik should be sufficient but I think if we add the Flash ... that may be a problem ... it could go up to about 1.65 m .. .hmmm do some reading first ....

the R72 ... does not seem to work .... but I think it is some settings.

Hmm, I think the 7hi on the slik one ... is a bit close to the limit.. so dun play play.. wait ur hand is those heavy heavy one.. heartache leow ;(

Well, anyone tried the SLIK Carbon fiber series? Looks good and cheaper than gitzos...

Btw, Gitzos are relatively cheap in HK, i think, at least as compared to some shops I usually go, or mabbe i not looking hard enough?

How much does Gitzo's 1128 costs in here?

Maybe can compare compare?

Best is to try the 7Hi on the Slik Pro personally. I personally feel its just nice. Remember that the place you're testing the tripod is carpetted so it'll definitely feel more shaky than on hard ground.

At the end of the day.. to each his own... try it out.. and decide for yourself.

Cheers All :p

But presently, what tripods are you all using at the moment ? Are you happy with it ?
