Well, give a few more weeks for our new distro to finish sending out new stocks (with their new RRP) to the shops.

If the final retail prices are really much more than before, no problem too -- we'll just vote with our wallets... and buy from online retailers instead. But here's hoping we get reasonable prices lah.

21mm F3.2 $950 (B&H ~S$645)
43mm f1.9 $950 (B&H ~S$795)
28-105mm f3.2-4.5 $599 (B&H ???)
Km w/18-55mm $850 (B&H ~S$753)
Km w/18-55mm & 55-200mm $920 (B&H ~S$915)
DA* 55mm F1.4 is $1.5k (B&H ~S$1050)

Sounds like the plan is to sell the body+kit cheap cheap then chop us on the lenses

woefulwabbit,
Are the B&H prices inclusive of shipping? I know shipping can add $60 to the cost.
But have to agree the lens prices are alittle high. My hopes for the 15mm is now dashed..:(

But the K-M Kit price is very good. $850 is even cheaper than some PnS cameras! With good marketing should be able to catch some of the newbies upgrading from pnS...

Pentax Japan had already announced back in late November 2008 that there were price adjustments effective February 2009. Plus the Yen has appreciated against our currency. New economic realities... new prices. Anyway lenses are global products, there is nothing to stop you from buying it from anywhere in the world that you can find cheaper. So long as no issues within 1 year, who cares about warranty.
Btw, the K-m I got for my niece was a little cheaper late last year from KL.

You have a point here. Best way is to see how much C and N prices have increased and see if its proportional. I would expect Pentax prices to rise slightly more than C and N due to lower volumes although overall they should still be cheaper. :)

No wonder! i was quoted $850 for a Dfa 50mm marco by MS...:hung:

Well all I can say about M S Colour is they can "change colour" with regards to price. ;)
I have been quoted different prices from different sales people which is also different from their e-quote.
Actually had varying quotes for the Pentax battery grip that I inquired and later bought.
I've come to the conclusion they are no different than most other photo shops.

To my knowledge they got no ready stock for the DFA 50mm and they got the nerve to quote such a price.
Seems like they don't appear to like to sell Pentax... :thumbsd:

No stock?? i call 2 days back & asked for 100mm but they told me only left 50mm
then quoted me with that price.
Scary this is no good!!!:complain:

We may loose M S Color as a fav spot to purchase Pentax products as they seem not to want to carry stock due to pricing issue with Emjay, but this I will leave it between the two. What I know is that I can still get Pentax stuff if and when I want them from MS Color, either by ordering in advance or otherwise.
;)

This is bad and I think it is kind of wasting time if they just tell you a random number everytime...

Excludes shipping, of course.
Just to illustrate the price difference, up to you to decide which way to go, after factoring in shipping, timing, warranty, testing, etc

But the shipping is according to the number of items? If I order few items, they charge the shipping once or few times?

If you're buying a big item (e.g. a k20D), smaller items are effectively "free" (e.g. remote control F). If you add additional big items, the shipping does increase, but the rate of increase is reduced. (e.g. 1 lens, USD 40, 2 lenses, USD 60).

shipping is counted by total weight right? so if you have 1 big item, you can probably add on small items at no extra shipping cost, until you tip over into the next weight unit (e.g. 1.8kg can add until 1.99kg). and usually the first unit will cost more than subsequent units. so it's good to combine lenses and purchase at one shot as you will save on shipping, but it won't be a huge amount saved.

don't forget that if you combine until you exceed S$400 (shipping cost included) you will be incur GST. although in the context of shipping cameras and lenses you'll probably be over the S$400 mark for 1 item alone. more applicable for other big but cheaper items like maybe domke bags perhaps.

No worries lar ... it's a fantastic performer (and light) as well. I don't mind keeping it ... no hurry to sell.

If the packaging from Amazon is anything near to what I've received before, they are usually pretty HUGE, when they could use something smaller. Usually incur a higher shipping fee, and as a result the GST also goes up (this is using VPOST).

I remember once I ordered 2 OME53 and they give me a box that can house 50 OME53!!

Prices have really gone up. If you want to know, pm me your email addy. The prices I hv quoted are from MJ. CPO and other places who are lower are from old Shrriro stock.:D

Need to add in GST as well right if from overseas.
