i bet that will cost at least 2K! :faint:

looks like minoltians will be broke for the forseeable future.....:bsmilie:

Any SOKM lens - Nikkor/EOS adapter coming soon?

just looked through dpreview's preview on a100...looks like dynax 5d owners won't miss a lot if they don't upgrade to this camera...everything looked like a carbon copy. the missing standalone ISO button is disappointing

dpreview reports ISO range at:
• Auto (100 - 800)
• ISO 100
• ISO 200
• ISO 400
• ISO 800
• ISO 1600
• Lo80 (ISO 80, Low key)
• Hi200 (ISO 200, High key)

all in, it looks good, anti-dust feature at on/ off, 10.2mps and i hope the supersteadyshot feature is even better than AS on my 5D. but compatibility with our current range of lenses and accessories may be an issue.. i'd agree with the stayers, i think its best to stick to your 5D and 7D for now until something better comes out to replace the 7D, unless newbie to dslr and looking for a good camera. anyhow, nice news to wake up to ;)

The camera body seems to be very competitively priced and would give Canon and Nikon something to watch out.

I think the problem is still the range and availability of lenses for Minolta/Sony DSLRs.

should not be a prob...the real prob is the availability of money....

POV:

Body still plastic, like upgrade from 5D with some adding from 7D. No vertical grip n maybe not for it. Think got to wait for A200?

some question about RAW files, according to DPReview
7D
RAW (12-bit) (approx. 9.8 MB per image)
Alpha 100
RAW (12-bit,.ARW format, approx. 9.1 MB per image)
10Mpixels RAW file is even smaller than 6Mpixels RAW file :dunno: , is it Sony really listen and compress the RAW file losslessly?

Looks like a 5D wannabe with a bigger heart but still lacking muscles ........... ;)

Sell some of your exquisite lenses and work more OT ......... not really a problem ...... ;)

The front cover panel of Sony's DSLR is a magnesium-alloy front cover panel and bottom plate which are mounted on a die-cast magnesium front chassis. Notice that the cable release is now located at the back and not at the side. I may buy some of their lens to try on Dynax 5D just to see.

Looks like the shutter response time for the review of the prototype A100 is about the same or even slower than the 5D.......
