Put the camera inside any time since the outside RH is usually higher than inside.Hi, i'm newbie here, got my E26D two days ago. i'm facing the same problem as Simplicateme.
My current hygrometer reading is 45% and temperature reading is 28 Deg. Is it save to put my camera inside?
i called up Digihub, a salesman attended to me politely. He recommended me for AD series as i only want it for camera gear. He told me there a knob "Green-blue-red" which adjusts the humidity level. He advised to turn the knob to "blue" which will gear toward 45-50%. He said DHC series is not necc for camera gear.
For, say 70 litres, Akarui dry cabinets are rated for 30 to 50 Watts power consumption. But an 80 litre one from Digi Cabi only uses 5 Watts! Can someone explain why?
Later I found out that also John 3:16 at Funan can deliver the Akarui dry-cabinets. Sadly I ordered already from Cathay-M else I would defently ordered one from John 3:16, have much better experiences with them. Have now the Akarui running and it works very well. After the door has been opened, within a hour, the humid is back on 40%. Digi-Cabinet is much slower, I compare only for both the 100L versions. The smaller versions of Digi-Cabinet are faster... they have the same engine as the big ones, more power in a smaller space... Thinking to buy a second dry-cabinet of Akarui... but not from Cathay anymore...
Akarui
Cathay :thumbsd:
Anyone knows where is the service center or to get replacement drying unit for Akarui dry cabinet?

Had a digicabi (30L) in 2007 for 100 bucks. Humidifier died recently. Lasted almost 8 years. Was told by the technician the lifespan considered v good alr. Digihub, which is the distributor of Digicabi sell the humidifier for $80 with 1 year warranty. Was advised to thrash my old digicabi and buy a new dry cabinet more worth it cox it costs slightly more but comes with 5 years warranty. I felt kinda wasted to let a perfectly fine steel box go to waste, so now im storing my camera accessories in that dead dry cabinet.
