There are a few type of digital hygrometers. The cheapest one I think is about $14.
Can you share where you find $14 digital hygrometers? So far I only can see $25 in Simlim Tower. I am looking for it, but don't want to spend too much money  .

Regards,
Arto.

upz, looking to replace my faulty digicab hygrometer.
Where in SLT can I get the cheapest? just no frills, simple digital ones. Thanks!

Just bought an Akarui dry cabinet 2 days ago at CP and they threw in a free gift comprising a lens cleaning kit w/ blower, and a small Lowepro digital camera pouch. Just for info in case anyone's thinking of getting one soon. :)

any big difference with a Akarui cabin and a Digihub's?

Go with the Akarui as it has an auspicious sounding name, Angkat(Malay- carry) Lui(Chinese - money) Angkat lui.:bsmilie:

The drybox really angkat lui as all your camera and accessories are in the dry box and cost a bomb.

Hahax, that's reallly funny! Anyway guys, Noobie here WTB AKARUI.. anyone selling? Btw, when we talk abt dry , how can "too dry" be bad for lenses and cameras? Can anyone explain?:dunno:

Optimum humidity should be 45-55. If you set it too dry, rubber may crack and fungus that thrive on low humidity may grow. It is also not good for the moving parts of the lens and camera.

Hi thanks Chef!

I had called them up but their largest is some 180L if I remember right. :)

how about power consumption, estimate 1 month how many watts consumed by dry cabinet ?

I just got down to CP at Peninsula Plaza this week and am quite interested to get their 172L akarui. It's $540 so gotta take time to consider. What do you guys think? Is the price fair enough? :)

i am also looking for dry cabinet, so Akarui is the best choice?
any different of price from John 3:16 and CP? where is the best place to buy?

I'm using Digi Cabi and the power consumption is 4W for storage <100L and 8W for 120L and above. You may check out the specs from their website www.digihub.com.sg.

Power consumption is 3W. I understand that it costs less than $1 per month.

172L is huge. I think it is as big as a family sized refrigerator. You have lots of equipment? Mine is 70L and costs $260 with some freebies thrown in. Per litre wise, $540 for 172L is more worth it.

I don't know whether Akarui is the best choice or not, but it works for me.

do you guys remember when there was no Akurai or DigiCabi? Back pre 2000? CP had only Made in Japan cabinet. I paid over $800 for 100L back then, so..... yeah.. made in China.. damn cheap, just buy it.

172 liter... you can also think about buying two smaller cabinet. The advantage is that you can put them in different locations, or put stuff you don't use often in one cabinet. The cost is about the same.

not sure should I get Akarui or AIPO.. for easy warranty claim should be Akarui, local support. For Value, the guy said warranty time just unscrew the back unit eletronic part.. no need bring over whole cabinet.

one more question, analog should be last longer than digital device?

Just check out digi-cabi, akarui and value. Value seems to be more solid, instead of plastic tray from digi-cabi and akarui.
but Value tray is just a flat tray, no foam.

Anyone have picture of internal AIPO?
