That's nothing. I have seen many instances where the asking price for a no-longer in warranty item is higher than a new one. Good luck lor.

This one just appeared in BnS:

Like a particular lens seller, brand new is $1800, he die die want to sell $1650, who would want to buy at $150 lesser used when brand new is with full warranty. This shows his (and people like him) short sighted and stinginess. He maintained those sales thread for more than a year, every 3 days post once - like a part time job.

Nowadays people are selling that lens for $1100 - and still find it hard to sell.

Sellers should be realistic and stop thinking people trying to low ball, sometimes its sellers ownself high ball. Second hand electronics depreciate fast.

totolly agreed!! even 3 days old or 1 mth old i still consider 2nd hand so i expect 2nd hand price.............

Now that's an *ss-kicker of a price! The sun doesn't get any sunnier than this! (except when you find it at a lower price at BnS at some point in time)...

I think 2 or 3 years back a lot of shops including MS quoted me $650 for the AFD version, so I'm very surprised at the prices i see in this forum, good though.

I called SLR yesterday for other things and this... no stock, no price and no news... Maybe you have better luck today. Went to TK to check on other items and also asked for this lens, one salesperson think I super-on and told me "eh, relay bro.... " :-/ No price, no stock either...

That's the standard RRP and street pricing already... I doubt there is any promotional pricing on the 85mm either get it now or wait until they raise up like the few lenses I've just enquired...
