I tested my lens and the pictures are very sharp, even at the edges. But AF is slower than the 24 f/1.4.

Seen some big samples, the sharpness is more than good enough. Its around there with the 24G. If you are into some numbers/charts, here it is. :bsmilie:

mm... looking at the 35mm lens construction, it does not look like a very complicated design. All normal lens elements except for one aspherical element. The 24mm has 2ED and 2aspherical elements.
The trinity zooms are even far more complicated. I think nikon just priced this high because of the demand for a good 35mm f1.4
It would be very interesting to see photos with this lens and film too.

Went to test 35mm 1.4G today. In the end, i bought 24mm 1.4G
Can I know where did you try? All my favourtie shops are all sold out..![]()
The more i shoot, the more i like this lens.
auto area focus in moving car, missed a few, but when it hits....:heart:
i love how it melts off.
All wide open, straight out of cam basic jpegs.
I dun like the CAs though.
