AF-S 35mm f/1.4G Nano

mm... looking at the 35mm lens construction, it does not look like a very complicated design. All normal lens elements except for one aspherical element. The 24mm has 2ED and 2aspherical elements.

The trinity zooms are even far more complicated. I think nikon just priced this high because of the demand for a good 35mm f1.4

Yeah man, so anybody going to use it to shoot this weekend?

I can volunteer, got 2 ADs and 1 ROM. :p

My son, shot wide open in a dim restaurant. jpeg with minor color balance edit.
Len's is sharp, bokeh is smooth....focusing does take awhile to get used to. (my 1st afs prime)
Quite a gd lens lah~

 Please post more pics to poison me!~

The 18-105mm kit lens has complicated construction, ie 15 elements in 11 groups. One is of ED glass, another is aspherical. It has VR, can shoot wider angle than the 35mm and can zoom up to 105mm, but it costs 7 times cheaper than the 35/1.4G. Why? Many people can't wait to sell it away in the 2nd hand market after getting their D90 and D7000.

One should not judge the lens performance based on its construction. Like the famous song said, "没那么简单."

Buy the AF-S 35/1.8 loh. Also can work on FX with just a wee bit of vignetting (actually that's what I dig) 250-280 bux for 2nd hand, cheap thrill. :) Bokeh is just slightly above avg, but center sharpness is excellent actually.

35/1.8 on a D3s. View it in 720p and fullscreen, not too bad eh.
