Hi there.

I am getting some trouble getting quality prints off MF slides (positive) from the Konota or Colorlab. The colours just do not appear as vibrant as seen on the slides.

Based on the users out there, would you recommend to scan the MF slides (I have a V700 Epson) and send it to colour labs for print?
If I send it to the colour labs using my own scanner, is 48 Bit colour scanning really necessary and what DPI setting should I use for a 8R or 10R print size?

Oh, is it better to scan a low DPI but chose a bigger output size or scan in high DPI setting with original output size?

Thanks very much.

Or is there anywhere that does Cibachrome?

hmm..

u could try telling the uncle to print exactly as the slide is. maybe he printed it as according to his own taste...

cheers!

It is not the scanning bit depth. It is the scanning technology. Go for drum scan and see the difference.

But, you pay the difference too. :embrass:
