If they are sbs employees...they able to issue summons to a parked car along the road?
juz wondering...

no need to wonder liao...they are busy with their makan....where got time to book car..

huai is SBS involve??? roads is not under the care of SBS leh

Seriously,

no one is stopping you from taking a break, or eating your breakfast, as long as you follow the rules, ironically, the rules that you're suppose to uphold.

If you want to eat your breakfast during duty, please dont attract attention and get CAUGHT!

They have parked on Double Yellow Line, slacking while in uniform (on duty). If they're off-duty, would they have booked the videoman, or maybe quote haven reach yet.

A good video to show off some flaws in our system.

Very good catch bro...

Hope the Right person see this clips and do the Right things ...

Taking your breakfast is not a issue.
At least do some thing right before taking your breakfast...

I believe if you have the power to book offenders,u should NOT commit the offence yourself. If you do that i take it as u abuse your power!! I say these ppl should get stiffer punishment!!

TP need to speed in order to catch speeders in front and they need to speed FASTER than the cars in front of them. Apply same theory.. so these wardens need to park at double yellow line in order to catch double yellow line offenders? :dunno: food for thought? :bsmilie:

That guy in the white MPV probably went to buy breakfast too.. so in order to to catch more offenders who are parking illegally to buy breakfast, the wardens themselves have to do that too!

 then to catch theives.....:nono:

Anyway, why no one say the white MPV. I HATE such illegal parkers that jam up the road. Good for him that he got a fine.

I am not too bothered by bikes as they don't block the lanes....

I dun think that's a fair comparison. As you mentioned the TPs are "breaking" the rules to catch the offender. Its not quite the same as parking your bike on a double yellow line to have breakfast.

The white MPV should, and deserves to be fined as well. But I think what ticked the driver off is that these guys did the same thing as him after booking him.

Bottomline - if a person is in a position of authority, they shouldn't abuse it. If they do, then there must be serious repercussions for them.

A clear case of abuse of authority. Btw, there traffic wardens are sub contractors of LTA and they are from United Primas. Maybe someone can email them and direct them to the link.

Not too sure how many remembered this.

You are not allow to park

i. 3m away from a fire hydrant
ii. 6m away from a traffic light
iii. 9m away from a bus stop

was there not an picture of another traffic warden bike on STOMP. Parked on yellow double line and giving out summons to other bikes parked the same way? And what was PRIMAS answer? The warden was looking for a parking spot and could not find one and hence parked in an "undesignated parking area".

As long as the superiors are responding this way things will never change.

Disagree as it's a different case altogether.

The superiors for the PREMAS case mentioned that they are doing their duty when they are unable to find a parking lot. In this instances, the SBS wardens are having breakfast while on duty and breaking the law by parking on the double yellow line.

even on duty you should not park in the double line, its not like catching a speeding vehicle. if you want to stop that one you got to give chase obviously and hence need to speed as well. however, if you want to fine people who park wrongly then there is plenty of time to park your own vehicle properly....

Nope, that I do not agree.......what the point of having a rule or law when the pple who is upholding it is not setting a good example for those below the rule or law to follow be it in duty or off duty. Imagine this in your company, boss say cannot surf porn when you are working but rite in front of you he surf porn and let you see. If the pple upholding the law or rule have no regards of the law and rules then why should pple below follow? Make no sense at all rite?

Many times I really want to complain to LTA about those carpark wardens liao esp those riding on bikes. You go summon pple in the carpark for not parking with a coupon but in the 1st place they themselve broke a even more jialak rule, no display of parking coupon on their vechicle while they are walking around happily booking pple, anyhow park their bike in the carpark.

Haha 2 different instances and hard to relate them in the same manner.

What I agree
i. warden allowed to stop at double yellow line to summon vehicles stopping at double yellow lines

What I disagree
i. warden parking illegally in carpark to book vehicles
ii. warden did not display parking coupons while in carpark lots

Perhaps you can write in to The Straits Times and wait for a response from them. Like you, I am puzzled if they are breaking the rule themselves by not displaying a valid parking coupon while parking in a lot doing their duty. Afterall, they are also parking.

This is an interesting thread.

I think no one is above the law. All are under the law. So when one breaks the law and not caught, he is not found out to have broken the law.

In the thread, all party broke the law and are found out.
- Car should not be park at double yellow line
- Bike should not be park at double yellow line

There is no need for warden to inform the driver that he had broken the law, because by passing the highway code you are expected to have understood the such simple law. By pointing a law-enforcer that he breaks the law does not allow him to break the same law. Though we want to think that the law enforcer is more guilty for breaking the law.

Ther must be good reason for one to break the law and yet not be punish by the law. Example of police going after a speedster. Ambulance exceeding speed limits etc.

Driver - will have to explain why he park his car there
Wardens - will have to explain why he park his bike there

In this incident, I expect, everyone will just become poorer.

I remember that in the respond it was also mentioned that the bike's no have been sent to HDB Bedok Branch for action to be taken.

Do you know why these traffic wardens dare to openly brake the law?

BECAUSE THE SAME PEOPLE WHO MAY SUMMON THEM IS ANOTHER TRAFFIC WARDEN. HE'LL MOST LIKELY JUST JOIN THEN FOR A DRINK!!!:thumbsd: :thumbsd: :thumbsd:
