About the upcoming photomarathon...

from the looks of the previous year's competition, u really need to think b4 going out to shoot for the themes. i went for the 1st 2 years' competition. initially, the shots were pretty much wat u normally see ard CS. but from then on, the competition winners' shots were really good. so, if u are out in a pack, think b4 leaving suntec.

no worries abt equipment. i've seen people carrying their entire dry cabinets... and then there are folks who went for the competition with a PnS.

it's super tiring.

get good sleep before the competition (i stayed up all night the night before..)

and by the time you hit the last assignment, it was more or less like the survivor show.

people who drive do have an advantage. but that's assuming that you're someone who's creative enough to already know places to go to, that is out of the world.

Didn't join last year, but I believe this year only got 3 themes, timing should be more relax then the 4 themes previously.

You can prepare yourself for things like: ordinary people portraits, historical/cultural sites, and night scenes around the cities and Chinatown. These will come out in more or less related themes. Since this is called 'Marathon Asia', they will want pictures that bring out the livelihood, people, religion, and cultures of our country.

I went for the photomarathon the year before.. My vest still in plastic bag.. :bsmilie:

You need:
a. good sleep the night before; saw a few photogs dozing off by the submission of 3rd shot..
b. lotsa water to rehydrate, plan where/when to eat; tiring hungry work this
c. all the gear you can comfortably lug around; I brought EVERYTHING.. hahah.. :sweatsm:
d. fully charged EZlink card or car or bike or marathoners legs.. (pun pun..)
e. buddies to share ideas and beers with.. really, just have fun..

Themes for last year 1) Face 2) Power: Simply Red 3) Slice of History 4) Darkness.

Although this year onli 3 themes it will be the same 3hr slot for each theme the onli thing is we can go back earlier then last yr!:bsmilie:

Themes different loh, no use referencing.... however, I believe M'sia and Vietnam have completed this year's photomarathon, mabbe you wan to visit their site to see their pics.
