A99

Isn't that a DT lens?

Maybe Sony should release an equivalent to the Canon 28-300mm L. :)

Sorry, with respect to Canon, what's good about Canon 28-300L?
I still prefer the Nikon version, maybe not on par with Canon (subject of discussion) but less bulky and much cheaper.

Sony 24-105 is FF lens

While other camps have 24-105 lens, Sony does not.
Do hope they fill up this gap tho.

theres no need to fill it up when you have 24-70 CZ  , peeps who buy 24-105 will eventually succumb to CZ 24-70 :gbounce:

I think some people prefer a ~50% lighter constant f/4 24-70mm lens.

Yeah the sony is a rebranded Minolta design.

Mistake on the Tamron should be 28-75 f2.8 for us$499.
Basically oem of Sony 28-75 f2.8 for half price since Sony got Tamron to make them anyway.

No direct comparison but from the pictures I see, and to compare to a 24-105L f4 lens
A900: Zeiss 2.8/24-70mm, Sony 2.8/28-75mm, 3.5-4.5/24-105mm, Minolta 4-4.5/28-135mm, 3.5-4.5/28-85mm

Thanks to rashkae on the heads up that Sony does indeed have a lens in the 24-105 range.
Thought it was discontinued.

In a lot of countries it is. But still easy to find in SG and second hand

what r u waiting for? hee hee.

Waiting for you to sponsor lor, heh heh! :P

Unless strike tmrw toto, I sure get it. Recently got the RX100 liao and also, my A850 only 2 yrs old, no point changing. I also give up the idea of owning a 70-400 and next A77 replacement even I got vouchers for it. Hardly use in local, might as well spend on something useful. To those own A99, happy "shooting" :D

Tats wat Sony site stated. If we assume Sony makes any sense, then a77 would hv tethering.

Lol reviewer kept saying a99 for enthusiast again and again.
So much for flag ship...

It is the flagship. The term "flag ship" has nothing to do with enthusiast, pro, beginner, etc. It just means it's the current top of the line for the brand.

So what, exactly, is your point? Or do you not know the meaning of flag ship?

well, given that a99 has so much technology advances even from d800 and 5d3.
It is still labelled as an enthusiast camera, kinda pissed esp that coming from dpreview. :|

lol, why should it be important how they market it? Anyway, I think "enthusiast" fits very well.
