the big headache is the weight!
why can't they make it lighter!

Zeiss always make lenses the oldschool way, build like a tank.
I think if they make it light, no one will pay that kind of money for it.
Look at the nikon G lenses now..so light compare to their old lenses. Feels cheap...

I love my 35 distagon alot too. Using it more than the 55.. Hmm.. I'm more troubled with the size than weight.. 650g is still OK (for me)...The 35 is tad too big on A7 bodies but still manageable. Anything bigger will really be too big..

Yah TW ...
my head keep telling me it's too big and heavy but my heart is with it !
man ...hate Sony!

Hi, if you really like the rendering, I suggest instead a carrying solution for this setup. I used the Peak Design capture camrea clip with their clutch system secured with their leash strap to my belt. An alternative will be the spyder holster which is a better mechanical quality. These systems allow fast draw and usage.

650g for a lens.. F1.4 and full frame. I think its still alright (of cos if it can be lighter..it could be better.) But the size is big..and the front element is 72... Comparing to other brands or even the A mount 35 G glass. This FE is consider big.(but according to many people online been saying..its becos of the A7 series body..the sensor..the distance etc etc..(lots of technical talk)

Nonetheless, I am happy with the pictures coming out from this Fe 35. If it were to be bigger.. I may not purchase it.
Or perhaps.. in time to come there might be smaller n better 35. That's when maybe time to drop this fat but great glass.

Batis line will be expanding. ;)

I have 2 nikon mount n I love it...I m getting a m mount 35mm f1.7 ultron for my sony a7r, for this I need to get a voightlander vm-e closs focus adapted (you can just use normal m to e mount for this lens).

Tamro has 2 new lenses that is very good , the 35mm f1.8 sp vi ucd and the 45mm f1.8 sp vi ucd. These ars aufo focus. The voightlander are full manual lens.

Just go funan to check them out...

Just got my 35mm F1.4 yesterday. It really big and heavy. However you can feel the built quality very solid.

Below is the pic I taken while I were trying the lens in the shop.

Ya, but 1.4 a bit soft. 1.7 still not bad. Anyway sorry for the lousy resolution of the pic. I dunno why it had been converted to so low quality. ha ha

That's a good buy. Gxgx on the purchase. I love the lens too and it's on my camera most of the time even when I'm traveling and for obvious reason of course, because of it's bokeh!

I also thinking to get this but its too huge for 35mm and the price tag I think is the most exp 35mm

I am thinking to get a wide angle lens.

Guys any suggestion? 16-35mm f4? samyang 14mm f2.8 or even fish eye 12mm f2.8? or wait for voigtlander coming e mount wide angle lens?? he he

anyone experience the file name overlapping issue of the images?

I just found that recently my files from the a7r II reaches name of DSC01667 (on 1st of Dec) and then jump back to DSC01641 (on 5th of December). I didn't shoot between these two dates.
