Zeiss always make lenses the oldschool way, build like a tank.Yes Stephen got the budget ..i love the pic quality on the 35mm distagon~especially the bokeh!
the big headache is the weight!
why can't they make it lighter!
man~😓

Yah TW ...
my head keep telling me it's too big and heavy but my heart is with it !
man ...hate Sony!
I was playing with it at NEX on wed n its good. The reason I didnt got it bcos I m using 1 on my nikon d800e..full manual lens.I love my 35 distagon alot too. Using it more than the 55.. Hmm.. I'm more troubled with the size than weight.. 650g is still OK (for me)...The 35 is tad too big on A7 bodies but still manageable. Anything bigger will really be too big..
Im getting the voightlander 35mm ultron f1.7....not too big and heavy...looks good on a A7R body..650g for a lens.. F1.4 and full frame. I think its still alright (of cos if it can be lighter..it could be better.) But the size is big..and the front element is 72... Comparing to other brands or even the A mount 35 G glass. This FE is consider big.(but according to many people online been saying..its becos of the A7 series body..the sensor..the distance etc etc..(lots of technical talk)
Nonetheless, I am happy with the pictures coming out from this Fe 35. If it were to be bigger.. I may not purchase it.
Or perhaps.. in time to come there might be smaller n better 35. That's when maybe time to drop this fat but great glass.
Batis line will be expanding.![]()
I have 2 nikon mount n I love it...I m getting a m mount 35mm f1.7 ultron for my sony a7r, for this I need to get a voightlander vm-e closs focus adapted (you can just use normal m to e mount for this lens).m getting the voightlander 35mm ultron f1.7....not too big and heavy...looks good on a A7R body..
Bro stephen ..
Like to share more on the quality..heard so much on voightlander lens..

regards
Very easy to get nice bokeh for this len!
👍👍👍
Just got my 35mm F1.4 yesterday. It really big and heavy. However you can feel the built quality very solid.
Below is the pic I taken while I were trying the lens in the shop.
F1.4 / ISO 800 / 1/100sec
