Hello guys! I'm also waiting eagerly for the release of the a7r ii Read so much good stuff about it I simply couldnt resist pre-ordering it hahahaha.

I did some price researching and calculations and my guess is that it will be between S$3750 to S$4100 in Sony Stores. Prob a little cheaper street price? :think:

Body with SEL551.8Z is HKD 29,780

comes with high speed 64GB SD card and a Sony black sling bag.

Amazon and the rest shipped from end August. Expect Asia to be 2-4 weeks behind. Japan domestic is excluded. Exchange rate has been moving...but usd is not crashing. Call it speculation but a darn accurate one I believe.

If pre order is strong, those waiting will have to get it in Oct unless you pre order now. Why not if you are keen to switch?

Hi, anybody knows if A7ii works on AF-continuous mode with Canon lenses via adaptors like Metabones, Fotodiox etc? Read it somewhere that is is supported but not very confirm.

Please advise if anyone knows more on this.

Price aside, the MP really headache to work with! IDK the rest but my RAW file in PS really need time to process. Few seconds + together = few mins! I am using i7-3930k with 16GB RAM, still not that instant when I using quick selection.

I'm using an i5 from 3 years ago with 16GB of RAM. it's really a pain when doing batch processing.

Go for xeon E5-2699. Roughly 5k usd only, heh heh! Btw, just for cpu but you got 16 cores, 32 threads! ;p

Apart from editing the photos, you also need a huge storage for those photos. NAS with 4 bays, 4 or 6 TB in raid 1 most ideal but a 2 bays of 2 X 4TB (raid 1) also good enough only. But you need those photos to earn back some $ if you serious in getting the a7r mk2, heh heh!

if they can implement a S Raw or small raw that will be great.... for those days you don't need the 40+ MP raw file, take a 20MP raw file i wont mind... like how canon does their S raw.

This will be a very interesting camera to lookout for. Cathay Photo can pre-order already with a $500 deposit. Looking for an A7 and is leaning to the A7S but maybe buy once and for all?

Registered for the preview event with the link provided in the email titled 'Exclusive Invitation to α7R II', but I recall that the registration page stated that registering does not necessarily mean you're invited to the event.

Was a separate email sent with an invite proper, or does registering mean... You're registered and you're clear to attend the event on 29 July?
