A7r mk2

what's the quoted price? apart from the $500 deposit

I preordered about a month ago so there was no quoted price. I just included the term that if it is more than a certain amount, to check with me first. in such a case if i decide not to proceed, it is fully refundable.

anyone from group 2? i'm attending this evening as well

Does Sony usually give discount coupons/freebies for the featured gear during events like this?

Those who are going to the event, mind to share your thought or impression of the cam?

Much appreciated

Think they are too busy playing with the camera. Awaiting feedback from the guy who took my slot. Going to hit the hotel gym while I wait.

Sorry for the blur pic. Iphone shot haha.

Thanks loads and lots to sdchew

So that's the strap or an adaptor? Not even an extra battery and/or charger?

That's an "exclusive" leather camera strap. And then some pwp offers at $250 discount. But off the SRP which is like duh... They didn't come up with any preorder special this time round it seems... Only the launch special.

The launch price ain't so bad. It's like USD200 less than the US price.

But the launch promotion. Ouch. The original A7's launch PWP was better. (I was able to buy 3 batteries then for SGD19 each.)

Ohh... DI accessories... That's referring to the batteries and stuff huh.

Didn't hear anything on the Batis lens though... :/

some thoughts after the hands on. I never owned mirrorless before but have tried a6000 last time.

EVF, the EVF is much better than a6000, the a6000 one give me a fake feel but a7r II's feels very natural. But I felt the shot to shot EVF lag still quite obvious with a7r II. anyone else feel the same?

Grip, the grip is deep enough for me, although i still find a bit hard to squeeze in my little finger. a6000 one makes my last two fingers very tired after a while.

focus, the venue is very well illuminated, i hardly can find a place dark enough to test af in low light. lowest i got was iso 4000 f2.8 1/80, the AF still pretty snappy but that is not very dark anyway. otherwise the focus is very fast and accurate.

IBIS, the image stabilization seems work very well. handheld shot at 1/60 using 55 f1.8 looks very sharp at 100% review. on my dslr i usually need to up speed to 1/160 at least to get sharp shots at 50mm (yes, i have a very shaky hand)

performance, generally the camera feels responsive. one very noticeable lag is reviewing image at 100%, after pressing C3, you will feel the camera freezes and about half second delay to show the magnified view.

I brought 3 of my M wide angle lenses to see if there were any improvement in the edge and corners. The 21mm Elmarit-Asph still shows smearing in the corners and edges. I do not think I can use it at f2.8. The 28mm 'Cron-Asph shows less corner and edge smearing, but I will have to do further tests to confirm if this is usable at its max aperture. The 35mm Lux-Asph, looks quite ok at f1.4, but I will do these tests again when the camera is available in 313 on 6 Aug.

The new OLED EVF looks good and it is very clear, a step-up from the A7r EVF. In low light it locks focus than the A7r. I was surprised at the price point. It is aggressive and competitive.

Thanks guys for the feedback. Did they allow you to insert your own sd card? anyone managed to shoot in high iso with own sd card? Wondering how the high iso performance is.
