Registered for the preview event with the link provided in the email titled 'Exclusive Invitation to α7R II', but I recall that the registration page stated that registering does not necessarily mean you're invited to the event.

Was a separate email sent with an invite proper, or does registering mean... You're registered and you're clear to attend the event on 29 July?

It's like balloting .. registering for it is to indicate your interest. No guarantee. You are only confirmed if you get an official Congratulation EDM stating your group and pass no.
