A7r mk2

I replaced tough e-mount. Didn't know that sony sell those. Btw, almost 3 screws head, the + almost gone, hard to take out.

I suggested any changing of that plate, should let the SC do it. Cause you might scratch the sensor. But if SC scratch it, they need to pay you back ;p

It is easy to replace. You just need a right size and good quality screwdriver. I have changed several mounts for myself and my friends. No screws ruined or sensors scratched.

The trick is to push down hard before you turn the driver (with the right size of course, a lot of the ruined screws are coursed by inappropriate driver size), I think that's a common sense though..Using a magnetic driver will prevent you from dropping the screws to the sensor, also be more careful lah..

3 screws already gone case after remove. I did place a piece of paper on sensor as to prevent not only screw, but screw driver slip n scratch it. I went to camera hospital to get screws, luckily he got enough, phew!

Wah. Hot thread here. 4 days already 9 pages. LOL.

Bro, tough e mount I read online there are some issues. Have you considered getting the original Sony stainless steel mount that's used on both A7s and A7ii? Sony sells them. Around $40.

Thanks for sharing...fotodiox tough e mount plate is selling more expensive...

Then what mount is for A7Rii? Haha....
Dunno leh, i thought the A7Rii is a full frame camera so it must be either A mount or FE mount ...

My E mount lens for VG30 can be used on A7Rii without adapter and fully utilise the sensor ? If can, then good lah, can consider this vs waiting for A6xxx or A7000 ....

I went to the Sony shop at Wisma before and was told that my E mount lens for VG30 is for APS-C sensors and cannot be used on Sony's full frame cameras ... so I always assumed that was correct ...

not sure what you mean by serious but I already said I am not considering the A7Rii if I need to start a new set of lens again ...

Erm bro FE mount are specifically for the full frame mirrorless Sonys (A7 series).

E-mount APS-C & E-mount Full Frame http://www.sony.com.sg/ilc-lens/range/Explore-All/565084 Two mounts, two sensor sizes, four combinations for those who still don't understand the difference,READ http://www.imaging-resource.com/news/2014/01/21/mounting-confusion-de-mystifying-sony-lens-mounts

Thanks for the detailed links. I was always calling FE amount. Guess I am mistaken. Hahaha

No worries, at least I am not the only one here who is confused ... Haha

Just got a A7S a couple of weeks ago. Was contemplating between it and the A7R. MP vs ISO. Since I wanted to leave my flash home opt for ISO but after shooting some outdoor night shoots, I lose shots due to that since the A7 system don't have onboard flash for stuff like fill flash.

Now, if the A7R MK2 have usable ISO up to 25600, I might get this year-end unless SONY comes up with a A7S Mk2 that has much better features.

Anyway was saving up for the Atomos Shogun for 4K recording, now I think let go of A7S since A7R MK2 can do internal 4k recording.

Wait for it
A7s mark 2 will come out

I'll wait for the A7S mkV then. I'm sure that usable high ISO image quality will reach 2 million by then with the latest 24MP sensor
