A7r mk2

Specs are great! Am waiting for the a7S ii, I'm pretty sure it should be announced by the end of the year.

Great spec but great price also 3200USD roughly 4300SGD...

At this price, I think Sony cannot sell lah ... way overprice .... anyway it's only my opinion ...

I must agree bro I also find A7r MK2 a bit too exp...

Haha can sell la... Got pple spending on the 400/500/600/800 primes and 1dx/d4s. Singapore is very affluent.

true oso lah ... lotsa rich singaporean around ... the unfortunate thing is I am not one of them ... sigh ...

bcos I think compare to other brands like Canon and Nikon is too expensive so difficult for Sony to sell ...

Haha, if u want to compare, only real contender to Sony A7r ii is Canon 5DS and 5DSR, look at the canon price before having bold claim...

count me in bro ^_^ I'll be sticking with my A7r for now since I don't need super fast AF as I only have two Native lens and most are legacy lenses... and I don't need 4K my TV not even 4K how to enjoy? and I don't need more MP but the backlit sensor is good as it help or make the sensor light sensitive this is one reason Sony manages to add more MP plus add more Phase detect sensor on the same FF sensor size :-). With this new sensor I cant wait what they can do with A7s mk2 maybe 24MP with much higher ISO range plus same phase detect sensor as A7r mk2 or keeping the same ISO range but with 36MP?... 4K hmmm still don't see the need unless you're videographer...

Hope Sony to focus on Battery technology to have the same FW50 size with higher capacity seriously they need to upgrade the NEX battery

290 shoots, maybe lesser, ha ha! Price might be 4499 rrp, standard one. Funny thing is the adapter support. Those who sold their laea3 at low price sure sad, heh heh! 2 more months waiting time. Go check out those 4k video, very nice, esp on wide display. :D

CIPA ratings ah.

i can squzze out like 800 shots from my A7S leh on 1 battery.

so as long as you don't rely on AF or IS too much.

maybe for me because i use MF and 1/focal length to stabilize my shot... no issue. haha

The specs are good, but price a bit too high, especially if you buy the Zeiss lenses. Sony in not yet in that pro or luxury bracket yet to command that price.

The A7Rii will probably sell but Sony may eventually be priced out of the market again like what happened to their TVs and HP products.

I hope there's two variant of A7r mk2 one with less added feature like no 4K or maybe reduce IBIS like 3-Axis and priced well for average person like us

well, there is the a7II...

The BSI is from RX100 technology if I am not wrong? Then next year, they use the rx100 mk4 technology for a7r mk3, then current a7r mk2, like nothing liao. So, for me, I stays still, see whether my prediction are correct or not, heh heh!

Wait they dump in 128GB internal for a7r mk3, I first on the queue, haha! ;p

Sorry I forgot to add same Sensor as A7r MK2... no point for me to go A7II as I am already using A7r :-)

I dont understand why an average user would need the 42MP BSI sensor.
If you want the sensor, that means you need the faster readout for 4K video, and the resolution for large prints, which makes you a serious/pro photographer/videographer, then you should be able to justify the cost.
Personally, I think Sony's pricing is reasonable. A7II is more than enough for "average" users. A7RII is for pros and really serious amateurs.

The BSI or Exmor R sensors date back to 2008. Not until recently did SONY and Samsung start to implement this technology to large APS-C and FF sensors. The stacked or Exmor RS sensors in RX100M4 and RX10M2 were newly developed from 2012. A reasonable guess for this kind of technology to be applied to APS-C and FF sensors would be in 4 years, so I think A7RM3 probably won't equip with such sensor unless competitors are really strong, which is highly unlikely.
