Owners of the metabones IV smart adaptor go update your firmware now!
the a7r2 and metabones IV combo now AFs perfectly with all my lenses. including those that previously didnt work!

The 19mm Elmarit-R is a R mount, not M mount lens designed for the Leica R series SLRs. No issue with the A7r or A7r II.

Thanks for the reply. I misunderstood all along thought that A7/r had issues with all wide angle lenses regardless of mount. So its mainly M-mount wides that have the problem

The M mount 16-18-21mm Wide Angle Tri- Elmar works well with the A7/r.

the A7r2 now works very well with the UWA RF lenses even.
haven't had the time to try this lens in good weather. The zeiss ZM 18mmm f4. no more color cast/smearing on the corners! corners not super sharp at F4, but v good by 5.6, perfect by F8. very different from how it behaved on the original a7r. same goes for the 12mm F5.6 in this pic shot by the 18 F4

Looks good! A7R2 so tok kong? Thought early reviewers mentioned that A7R2 wide angle corners better than A7 but it still has colour cast. But from your pic looks fine.
See that you sold your Sonnetar and Mitakon 50mm.

both! metabones seems to have cracked the algorithms for PDAF support on the a7r2. fast and accurate now, some lenses focus faster than they did on my 5d3. excellent accuracy as well.

ya sold the 2 fast 50s as i think they do fine on the a7s, but not as fine on the a7r2 which is a demanding sensor. Even the excellent Zeiss 55 1.8 shows more CA than i remember on the original a7r

return to my friend already the 85L. i would say AFC works well with face detection for model / posed shoots with the model moving/ walking. that's based on one night of limited testing on my son in the house haha... running / sports probably not. That couldnt be done on a 5D3 too.
135L has much more potential. the USM on this is crazy fast with the metabones.

This is certainly good news! Will update mine tonight! Really hope it will also work with the Canon 50mm F1.4 as well. Been wanting to use a fast 50mm prime on my unit.

Yup will update here once I tested it. You don't say the Sigma leh, makes my heart very itchy to buy it. Ha ha ha! Also I don't want to have 2 big lenses mounted on the small body. Trying to get a smaller lens to compliment the small size body. I don't have a long zoom lens as it's not my shooting style but I do hope the fw update also resolves the issue of not being able to focus at max focal length on the canon 70-200 2.8 ii and mfd for the 50 f1.2.

Now get the 300II..haha.. Anyway yesterday after reading this post I message my friend who said that the AF speed seems to have improved after the updates on the 600II with TC.
