A6000

Can I check with anyone use A6000 with Tamron 150-600mm or Sigma 150-600mm with Adapter? the AF still fast enough for birding?

Thanks

I used the Nex 6 with the T156 via LAEA4 for birding for about 3 months until recently. Havent shot since then since it is the low season.

Quite happy with the AF speed although I used MF mostly to try for critical sharpness and detail. The a6000 with this lens+adapter combo may give you more FPS as compared to the Nex 6 otherwise AF speed should be the same since AF would be done by the LAEA4 AF module.

The a77ii would be a different story altogether with its insanely fast FPS and more widely spread AF points compared to the LAEA4 which uses the AF module form the a65.

Thanks for the reply.. Looks like there nothing much to worry about for the af.

SG50 promo, body only $699. Street price will be cheaper.

Look very attractive! Which wide angle prime lens is more suitable for this?

Samyang 12mm F2.0

But then that's what I would like if I were using a6000. It all depends on how wide you want to go.

Sounds interesting! I think this is good. Not sure how much is it selling in Singapore.

Just checked funan body plus kit lens about 900

Interesting. The price is awesome. After playing with it for a while, I decided to go for A7.

How much is the samyang f2 ah? Just wondering if wide angle mostly use for landscape why do we need to go to f2 ah? Is that mainly for night scenes?

And I guess samyang has no image stabilization and can't use the phase autofocus with the A6000?

Sorry for the noob question :P

$450 from artworkfoto, not sure about other shops. And the Samyang is manual focus, so no AF at all. And no you don't need the F2 for landscapes unless you do astro, but the question was which wide angle prime, so I didn't include zooms. The Samyang 12mm F2 is the widest prime for the Sony NEX system that I know of, and in general when I want wide, I want the widest there is. As for stabilisation, if in future Sony brings the 5 axis stabilisation down from their A7R2, then you'll have stabilisation. For now, no stabilisation.

I think if you want a UWA for landscapes and can afford it, the Sony 10-18 is probably your best bet. If you can't, the Samyang 12mm F2 is a good alternative. You could adapt lenses, but I think the only one that makes sense in terms of size is the Canon 10-18. However, unless you also have a Canon APS-C system, it doesn't make sense to get a Canon lens and adapt.

Disclaimer: I am not using / have not used Sony system before. I am on Olympus m4/3 system, but I do keep track of other brands' developments

I second the SEL1018 suggestion if you can squeeze out a few more dollars - assuming you buy used. The extra 2mm on the wide end should be pretty significant if you are able to utilise and compose using the wide FOV.

OSS is really quite helpful for shooting indoor spaces based on my experience with this lens.

Hi pros out there, I just got my hands on this babe and also I already have the 5N 3 years ago...I have 2 questions.

1) Can both batteries be interchangeable, meaning to say I use a6000 battery on 5N and vice versa? The batteries model looks the same. Please see attached link.

2) Can the battery charger from 5N be used on a6000 batteries too? Please see attached link.

Appreciate if anyone can share your comments. Thank you in advance.

A6000 is E-mount and is APSC right?

So my A7R lens can be poked into A6000 with 1.5 crop factor right?
