Don't worry, over time they will leave out more and more.True they an save money on plastic caps.. But how about the manual? Strap? Etc etc, there a list if items that can be saved on consumers and multiply by vol it looks significant!!
OK, i send Sony an email regarding the PDAF. My question was, how do you enable PDAF with a 1670z lens. This option was removed from A6000 but it was present in NEX6, so was it a NEX6 only features and by default A6000 will have PDAF on?
Well, Sony tech just called me. He was able to select PDAF ON and OFF inside the camera menu. Go to Camera Setting, under sub MENU 1, there will be a PDAF selection ON and OFF. He tried on his A6000 with 1670z lens and this option was available. I told him i can't see this options at all.
So later after work i am bring my camera down to wisma for a check.
I'm just curious...why would you want to disable PDAF?
Maybe your lens firmware is not the latest so the camera can't detect it?
I didn't even know the NEX6 had this feature and now with my a6k..i also never knew haha
Wah lau!:bsmilie:Don't worry, over time they will leave out more and more.![]()
AFAIK, once PDAF is selected, you will have small little crosses on your display ( not small green boxes ) for PDAF to work. Well, i am not getting this. The one shown in DPreview have it though.

So for taking photos on the display, do u see the 179 crosses ( not to be confuse with the small little green box )?
YES! Like what DPreview showed on the A6000. It should cover 92% of the screen.
My guess is, how A6000 deal with PDAF is diff from Nex 6. That's why i drop them an email. But the tech called me and said PDAF can be enable/disable inside the menu which i didnt have. So wondering was he smoking? But he ask me to bring down for a check.
Anyway, my hotshoe came, so i am going down to collect anyway so can just ask them. lol.

actually it make senes of not having the 179 cross point to show . after looking at the video ..i find it obstructive having all those points on screen. can you imagine seeing 179 cross points on your LCD?!?! :bsmilie:
I don't have the "settings" mentioned by the tech too. And can't find the multi grey crosses area also. PDAF seems to appear in AF-C mode only.
PDAF works in AF-A and AF-C but so far i only able to see once on my AF-A. lolol.
