A6000

It's more expensive though and you paid for it, nothing is for free.

Not that I'm saying it's "free". Just pointing out the inconsistencies. And as far as I know, other manufacturers provide body and lens caps for their entry level models.

If you post something like "does anyone knows the price of bla bla bla in bla bla bla shop", be expected to heard 2 types of replies:

1) Someone actually knew and replied or
2) Most will ask you to call and ask.

I don't see whats the big hoo haa from you when that is the standard answers you will get everywhere else not just here.

Or maybe you just surf CS and nothing else??? lol

Anyway, enjoy your new camera! :D

Neither do I, next time you see "does anyone knows the price of bla bla bla in bla bla bla shop" can no need to reply if there's nothing constructive but then again its a free world and internet. I hope that there would be someone on 1) and its $1099 too for MScolor.

As for 2), so far only you. Thanks anyway. :D

Here's a real question(not that the previous one isn't), how do you turn off the focusing beep on the A6000? Its kinda loud. I tried on my sel50 f1.8 and first few shot seems to be the same focusing speed after that it feels faster, maybe its just me?

I am also puzzled. All the DSLRs( Pentax and Olympus) always come with body cap and kits lens with caps.
First time I heard about Sony body with attached lens in box instead of separating the lens and body.
Hmmm...

I was really quite noob when I got my Nex 6 so I didnt realise how shitty (and yet not shitty) that I didnt get a body cap. I usually always have a lens on my Nex 6 so I rarely use a body cap even when I have one.

I do still wonder/marvel at how much excluding a piece of plastic will matter to Sony's profit margins :)

That is why I am extra puzzled as Sony is quite "well-off" company.
But I hope that Sony would not repeat "no-body cap" and no-lens cap" on next A#XXXX kits respectively.

Cost cutting. Everyone is doing that. Not just Sony. I recall my Nex-7 kit came with lens cap and body cap for the lens and body. And it actually come with a battery charger.

Now, you don't get any of those, and the "battery charger" is now a USB power adapter with a pretty low rating.

Just look at how much those original plastic caps retail for.

As likely as inlcuning a standard external charger. Down the road it's more likely you will see more stuff expluded. Every penny counts!

That piece of plastic probably cost US$1, or lesser. But, if they can sell 1 million nex6, that a 1 million bucks saved.
Simple as well.

I recall sony taiwan free external charger for a6000

This A6000, they didnt even bother to include a S$6.40 hotshoe cover. lol. Can cut. CUT.

True they an save money on plastic caps.. But how about the manual? Strap? Etc etc, there a list if items that can be saved on consumers and multiply by vol it looks significant!! But Sony must wake up the idea of providing the bare necessities.. Now even without external charger, it become a hassle to charge batt and not able to use the camera during those times...

At least Canon is not following this trend.. Hopefully not in the future

Actually i can do away with the straps and caps cover but they just dump a external charger in. :D
