Would like to ask a question for those using the A500.
Do you guys have problem with the White Balance especially taking indoors?
I always have the problem of getting too reddish or orange for the pics.
Most of the time using auto, and depending on the lights, sometime using the custom mode also cannot bring down the redness. :dunno:

Can anyone help me please... :embrass:

I think its normal for every mid range dslr cam... shoot raw and later adjust in software

im using a500 and most of the time like to do night photogs, but lately I noticed dead pixels coming out in my pics.
although I did pixel mapping already it still appear on my pics,
is there anyway to avoid this or I need to send this to SSC for repair?

If your camera is still in warranty, then better send to SSS.

I was looking to buy a DSLR since more than a year now. Today I did a full research and decided to buy a nikon d5000 or a canon 550, but when I took them into my hand to test, they where so not for me. I then took this A550 and immediately decided to purchase it.
I took the A550 and the 18-250 kit.

Being a canon point and shoot user for almost 10 years, this is a big jump and I am so happy with the speed and quality of the images. I tried this 7FPS and 5FPS also and liked it.

I have a few questions:

1. Am I supposed to rotate the lens while in AF mode ?
2. Should the lens be rotated/adjusted by hand in only Live view mode?
3. Is there anything special that I should know or take care about this lens ?
4. The lens is supposed to be fit into the camera at all times ? or only when I plan to use it?

Hello... Welcome to the sony sub-forum...

1. Rotate as in zoom ring or focus ring? you should not try to rotate the focus ring while you are in auto focus mode. you should only rotate the focus ring if you are trying manual focus.

2. Refer to point 1

3. Erm. I will say wipe the lens exterior with a micro fibre cloth after use. clean it when necessary. You can clean the glass element either with a lens pen or spectacle cloth.

Keep them in a dry cabinet or dry box if you do not intend to use them for prolonged period.

4. The is no problem with keeping your lens on your camera.

Are u referring to optical zoom or digital zoom ?

Iq should remain largely the same but urn resolution will reduce significantly
