sorry.. i dont want to be rude but for you would be an idiot to pass a d200 for only 850 SGD.....!!!! lets just say i planned to buy a d50 with lens kit just for trying out a nikon for the first time. so i guess i still got some spare money to buy good gear.. the 300 SGD is just a platform to know how good and cheap nikon lens can be considering nikon has sigma, tokina and tamron for 3rd party lens. but with the 50mm i still can buy presents for my family this x'mas...![]()
but really after i read through the internet.. 50mm is a lens to keep.
actually it's my friend's friend whos selling.... just hope he didn't made a mistake on giving the price hehehee![]()
but with the 18-70mm some say the distortion is quite troublesome... i also seen it in some lens review site. and in the end you will finally upgrade to another better and expensive lens but with 50mm u got nothing to loose.![]()

nope haven't.... still waiting in anticipation hahahahhaa... all i can do right now is finding the perfect match of lens to with my soon to be d200, if nothing happens along the way heheehehe..![]()

.... do we need so wide angle? i think 18-200 more versatile for different purposes ...
I don't know abt you guys. For me, I would not get the 50mm prime without any other wider lens. It can be tough to take architectural shots at 50mm. I'll take the 18-70mm in this case.
Upssss....!!!! Me and my big mouth...!!!!
lucky me he's not in singapore...but still....

i havent used it before but from comments posted by those who have, it is a good piece of glass... well.. if TS really wants to go all out with landscapes and architectural n can spare the moolah... the 12-24 is good!
on the other hand, the 18-200 VR is a relatively more economical lens for a start, and with a great range too.. very fine optics as well.. only gripe i have about it is its aperture range of 3.5 at its widest n 5.6 at its tele ends... so might face some problems in certain situations.. but for landscape n architectural with tripod.. shouldnt be a problem..![]()
i 3rd this
wuahhhhh.... the "18-200 vrAF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED" OMG....
its a good lens but... over priced for me hehehe.. considering i'm a newbie to nikon DSLR heheehe..
hmm.. but for taking other then architecture is still ok right..??
i see most ppl using the 50mm 1.8 for portraitures..
