And I cannot deny there are equally many others including yourself has gotta their own uniqueness in their trove. For once, I'm a lousy recorder but you're doing an excellent job plus the historical facts. That is some taking and a big salute. No doubt about that. :thumbsup:

I guess I'd blame it on miseducation. I'm pretty sure some (if not all) of those kids have no idea what 'that' gesture mean. It's probably due to the exposure of some pics/video in which these gangstas use 'that' gesture to pose... also, I think it's somewhat becoming a trend among youths to pose like that, sort of portraying "coolness"...

Yup, makes sense and I would certainly want to believe that the kids innocently mean friendly even with that gesture

Let me attempt to answer you about the IR thingy.
All the IR photos you saw on this thread were taken with IR-mod cameras (limwhow, SereneXMM, LowLights and mine). The cameras were actually sent for modification. The IR-cut filters infront of the sensors have been replaced with an IR filter instead. There are several types of IR filters but ours are mainly R72 and ELP Modifying the cameras allows us to take IR photos heldheld and possibility to compose our photos through the viewfinders. As to the photos you see. They can be either really close to that coming out from the cam or PP-ed. The most common PP is often just a Red-Blue channel swap (such as mine) while the more elaborate ones (such as those from limwhow and SereneXMM) can result in very interesting look. Hope my simple explanation helps.

actually i set off thinking i would grab some nice nice landscape photos....usually turning to take portraits is a sign of bo pian for me but somehow i always turned out happy with what i got...semporna and this myanmar trips all seemed to turn out this way...and i must say again, u all probably guessed it already...that little girl is my happiest take ... haha

I feel so paiseh.
My shots are mostly really record shots.
Sincerely and personally, this trip I have realised something very important about myself that i would like to share with everyone.
Like everybody, i started out wanting to take really solidly nice pictures when I first started photography.
But over time, I have developed my own likings.
And nowadays, i have found that what interests me most whenever I travel and wherever I go is to take record shots after record shots of the 'scenes' and the 'moments' that will be captured for posterity.
This is what i aim to do everytime I lift up the camera.
I still try my best to take landscape shots and portraiture of subjects. But sadly I find myself severely lacking both in skills and in the eyes for these genre.
So the only type of photography that suits a lazy chap like me is The Glorious Department of Record Photography.

Maybe one day ClubSNAP will set up a sub-forum called 'Record Photography'....
Wah then I will go even more crazy then when I was shooting lots of IR!!! Haha...
