If shoot raw, prepare yourselves with more CF card if you burst like nobody business..
if that's the case, I would invent a CF connector to a portable computer harddisk! hahahaha... 200GB should do the trick? ;p

If I not wrong, there will be a software for free download in Jan for you to connect 7D directly to PC.. then you can shoot and send the image directly to HDD liao.. no need to reinvent the wheel :bsmilie:

You don't need to invent one, it's free with D7D, on the Dynax 7D site under Other Functions:

Instant playback, zone matching, remote-storage function (Requires firmware update. Firmware updater and DiMAGE Transfer software will be available for download in January 2005.)

Now save money to buy a laptop and vest, but the lappy in the back pocket and you you can burst raw liao.

But I don't own a laptop, furthermore the batt won't last long either.

hee hee.. well extra batts loh, anyway, i think you'll be able to get around at least 4 hours on a newer centrino laptop. The Dimgae transfer should be too processor intensive.

(me army personnel, no point buy lap top, can't use it in) camp.

not sure of the filesize of RAW format, if its 10MB or so, I consider it slow even if its 6 secs.

The raw file size is around 8.6 megs, raw+jpeg is 11.5 megs as stated on their specification.

But their lenses (G) are already as expensive as those with image stabilising if not more ( 70-200mm SSM ).

But why do I still want to stick with Minolta? :dunno:

How many G lenses does Minolta has? To my knowledge, there are only about 11 of them or so. It is not that Minolta only has G lenses and nothing else, but G series are of much higher grade than the norm. Compared to Canon's L lenses (double of Minolta's G) & IS lenses (more than Minolta's G), it is nothing. If I'm not wrong, Canon's IS only compensates horizontally? Correct me if I'm wrong. ;)

Cheers!

No. Canon's IS has a panning mode. In that mode, it only compensates for vertical vibrations. On the other hand, I'm not sure if AS on D7D has such a mode.

Cheers!

I see... my A1's AS can compensate in any direction, so I guess in 7D will be the same?

Horizontal compensation is not desired when doing panning. It'll be good to have a panning mode in AS.

Cheers!

so for wedding shoots, 20D & Dynax7D, which 1 better?

den the flash buy for 7D which 1 better?

den which lens should i start with?

i read alot about the Canon 20D, since its almost like everybody is talking about it... seem like its something damn super, yet to experience, hope to jump into either 1 of the DSLR brand & stay with it...

so... minolta have how many lens type? G & wat? den sigma & tamron have lens for minolta? are they good?

is there, like a bulb mode, cos i like to take fireworks as well, den have a wired remote control, unlike D70 i think only have wireless remote... what else...
