5d @ Iso 3200

Guys... pls.

As clarified earlier, I did not say that it's not good, I juz say that I failed to see significant differences as compared with my 10D, which have a smaller pixel size and less refined in cam processing.

I'm only show 5D's output at worst case scenario. These are not ment to be C vs N or FF vs crop.

I just tested the cam at it's "limits"... why?.... Juz because it's there. Nothing more. No one will willingly shoot at such conditions if your rice bowl depends on it.

There are facts and there are history. There are some facts that are hard to swollow by certain people, similarly history are written by victors, not vanquished.

Finally, your portfolios speaks for itself that you guys aren't casual snappers, let maintain that professional attitude here also.

thanks

the photos look OK at ISO3200. should be useable.

I'll be trying to print some samples and see how is it in prints.... but 12MP at 8R, I don't think I can see anything significant.

Anyone have the recommend size to print? I dun want to burn a hole in my pocket juz for print test.

just crop and print 4R sections like your first post lah. ask the lab what's the minimum resolution (e.g. 300ppi) for their prints, then crop out 4R centre/edge, highlight/shadow etc. sections to print 4R... no need to print the whole image!

BTW i would like to see a 10D comparison, but the noise (or lack of it) seems very good to me by any standard (film or digital).

Hi CYRN,

The ISO3200 on the 5D looks excellent to me. In fact, I think its much better than my 20D can produce actually. I have never dared to view my pics at 100% even at ISO 800 sometimes. I would love to see how much detail the 5D can capture from the 24-70L. If you have the time of course. Cheers!

Heeheehee... I only got the 5D for a day for test run... returned liao.

I've a few shots from the cam that I'll be posting here when I've done my assessment.... 12MP isn't very healthy on my PC.

hmmm... good idea.

I tot I posted a 10D @ 3200... the veg shot.:dunno:

I did not have exact condition... such comparision are already done at popular review sites.

oh, sorry; the way i first read it, the pics in post #18 were from the 5D

Thanks for the samples, CYRN! I have doubt with 5D's CMOS performance too at first. Tried it with afriend's a few weeks ago, not bad...In fact, its pretty good. Definitely going to find some $$ to replace my 20Ds with it.

Okie... the next test pics posted here ;)
