might be most still have 1dII instead? No figures on 1D3 usage in Olympics.
Doesn't bother me whether 5D Mk II gets released or not. I'm enjoying my present cam now.
Even if the 5D Mk II comes out, it's gonna be expensive. Will probably buy it 2 years later when the price will be 40% or so cheaper since I'm not a pro.
The 5D is really ancient though.
Canon is probably desperately asking its engineers to add on more features to beef it up now that the D700 is out? For one, the Canon LCD screen sucks. So big but number of pixels in it is no better than my compact camera. How so difficult is it to add more pixels like what Nikon has done a long time ago? They need to rethink some of the ways they design their products.

Also good lah, then the forum will be more lively. You can start speculating on 5Diii 3 weeks after initial euphoria from the release of the 5D2.
Anyone care to speculate on the price of the 5D2, so we can start a financial plan for this?

Herein lies the irony. With FF uncropped sensors, Nikon will be selling more super telephoto lenses than it would with its 1.5x sensors.
Considering this, and the fact that sensor fabs/foundries have optimized their production technique over the years, why Canon doggedly sticks with the neither-here-nor-there 1.3x sensor for their 1D Mark III is beyond me. :sweat:
