Important canon should do an economic way to let user own FF camera in long run.

I still love :heart:crop factor camera.......

Only when the official announcement comes then we'll know. I suppose now DSLR manufacturers are moving towards the FF concept.

I also still use my cropped sensor DSLR, but only for tele usage.

Here in SG, a brand new one is averaging $3.5K.

The D700 is priced at USD 2999.95 at B&H, which is about S$4k. Assuming 5D2 is competitively priced, the drop in 5D price might be quite significant.

When 5D2 is out you may not be able to find 5D in the market brand new.

Canon did not announce that they will pull the plug on 5D production just yet...usually they will do so just prior to the announcement of the replacement body. So it is likely that there will still be some brand new 5D sets sitting on the shelves as it will take some time for the first batch of 5DII to arrive. However demand for the original 5D is still strong so its quite possible remaining stocks will be depleted fast (especially if there is a price cut by Canon in lieu of the announcement of the new body).

I think the new 5Dm2 is only worth if you need that ISO bump and that 14-bit Digic III sensor. If not, huat the 5D!

I doubt so cos technology continually improves over time.

I'm sure its successor should have several significant improvements over the current 5D.

Well if they dun have significant improvements, Canon will always behind Nikon...which is taking the lead now in almost every aspect.
