Got the 500D about a month ago still don't really know how to use it. Been using full auto mode hoping to learn more

there's also lots of other methods to learn how to use a dslr.. i got plenty of stuff from the internet. i'm sure you can too. =)

of course, you can go ahead and experiment yourself, no need to go out then start experimenting. you can start straightaway right at home! play around with the ISO settings, aperture, shutter speed.. then compare the end result.

of course, i'm sure we'd be more than happy to help if you really do have any burning questions that you're unsure of. =)

First you need to read the manual and familiarise the buttons and dials.
Take a look at the Outing and Gathering forum, join those guys on shooting session.
Shoot and learn at same time and then shoot some more.

I am also new and learnt something recently in my latest outing with the guys.

They'll teach you how to operate the camera, the various modes, what they do etc. It's basically to start you off in using the camera. And like others said, there's plenty of info on the internet. For a start, try here:

Excellent site for dslr beginners, then experiment with your camera.

not really. coz the price of 7d will be double the price of 500D.
500D will still be a major thing till 50D gets upgraded..... or 500D gets upgraded.

now i use 450D + kit lens and thinking to buy the 500d
may i know whrere the cheapest to get in sg ? and also if i want to sell my 450D how much is the maret price there ?

I got mind at MS colour for 1060. Body only.
BTW, if u are selling the 450D can Pm me? I got a friend who is new into DSLR, but do not wat to spend so much to start. I feel a 450D is a good one to start.

Just curious though. If you are getting a DSLR, why do you bother so much about the video recording? If you need to record a video, wouldn't it be better to get a camcorder or something like that? :think:

No offense yeah..

yup.. in a flash.. change to HD recording.. sometimes video will tell you great stories too..

I took both videos and photos during the Liverpool FC Singaproe River Cruise.. all in a jiffy.. without missing much the important moment..
