Just got my very first DSLR last Friday too. But I think we kena conned by the sales assistant at S*** B*** at Funan. Bleah.

Paid S$1325 and got 500D kit, 8GB SDHC, tripod, filter, screen protector, bag.

Seriously should have got the bag somewhere else. It costs half the price cheaper. :angry:

I'm now learning and hope to use this new baby for my Chiang Mai trip in the year end. :lovegrin:

I paid by NETS, though. This is the hugest amount which I have NETS-ed, so far. :sweat:

My fren recommended me MS color too. But I called them up, they said 500D kit is sgd1250, with only free gifts (8gb memory card + lens book) from Canon. Or maybe I got bluffed too??

This kind of thing always happens to me. Buy the thing, then realize somewhere else is selling cheaper! :angry:

Your information is correct cause I bought my 500D at MS Colour.
But do note $1250 is by CASH only. If pay by Net or card need to add another 2% or
by installment add 5%. By the way, did you buy a dry box for your camera/s?

One good thing about MS Colour they don't sell you thing that you don't need.

I must say you got a good deal for your additional battery cause MS Colour selling for $90+.
 

Got the original battery from Alan Photo at Funan, 70 also. But their Hoya (R72) IR filter a little expensive ... cheaper from amazon / adorama.

Does it cover things on how to take better pictures or just a review of what the camera can do? If so, can just read the manual?

Anyone got good photography books on how to compose the shots and such? Am Interested in landscape and travel photography.

Yeah, Song Brothers also sells original battery at 80+ to 90. Can't remember the exact figure. But then again. My friend said his battery for 450D can last for 500+ shots in 2 charges.

Guess trick is to off the LCD and to shoot photos purely using viewfinder. A bit difficult for me at first, but now I'm getting the hold of it. Yeah. :bsmilie:

You can pay by installment at MS Colour. Please note the price they tell you is base on Cash payment only. If pay by net or credit add 2% or by installment of up to 24 months add 5%.

No matter wat the pay mode you chose it;s still cheaper then Court or HN.

Paid $1060 for body and $125 for 50mm f1.8 (As adviced from a good friend) :)
Currently looking for a good wide angle zoom to compensate the shortcoming in range.
