I got a 1000D and my friend have a 450D. We bought it a few weeks different. 450D has better grip. and it is very useful for my friend as a guy. in terms of quality both are similar.

I just tested the 1000D vs 450D at Canon showroom. Took some RAW photos and came home to analyze.

Both cameras produce very similar output at ISO 100 and 1600. The 1000D has far better pixel sharpness than the 40D due to its weaker AA filter. It also appears that the sensor in the 1000D is NOT the same as the one in the 400D. It does not exhibit that ugly blotchy and colored dots at high ISO. In fact, the 1000D high ISO capability is equal to that on the 40D. Very impressive stuff for a so-called entry level DSLR. :thumbsup:

thanks...went to tried eos450d and 1000d also...how you copy the photo back???u brought your laptop there?

I took some photo at high ISO also....playing around with the apeture ...on LCD the result looks good(dont really trust LCD)....overall the eos1000d feel better for me in my hand....

should i or should i not buy..oh no....

I am a sucker for high ISO..never like to use flash whenever possible...

Both images exhibit slight softness. and it looks like it was due to camera shake. You wouldn't be using a tripod, would you?

EDIT: Actually the second image looks to be softness due to diffraction. First image looks like a case of indistinguishable focus area.

I used the tripod for both.
I looked again and maybe there is some problem with focusing?:think:

Hmm yeah...at least the first one. Focus seems to lie somewhere along the lens barrel, from the looks of it.

Second one looks like diffraction to me.

just wanna check are canon lens(compare apple to apple). more expensive than other brand like Nikon ,Pentax,Sony?
