30% INCREASE IN WATER PRICE

If the raise is to have population save water .. it will not work.. just go around and ask friend does this increase change they water usage behaviour .. the answer is no... This is purely a raising revenue exercise. I really hope the $ raise will be used for a good cause to either increase the overall water supply or towards technology that reduces usage vs towards shareholder returns.

This is quite true. Like our ever increasing ERP. Does it help you solve congestion effectively? If one has to travel to work at a specify time. How do you expect people to avoid the timing and more over.. all the roads leading into CBD are all with ERP.. so there isn't much of a choice. One will just take the most convenient route, given all the roads with ERP and still congested. Same for hawker food and retail stores. Why they are all getting for expensive? It is because of the higher rental imposed by the landlord. Some of these changes have to change from the companies, landlord or higher.

Since when have the Garmen subsidized the cost of water supply? As much as they subsidized the cost HDB housing? Nobody really knows but and (a big butt) ....So will Singaporeans and local residents consume less water even if the price of water were to be jacked up further? The answer as you already know is NO. Water is a quintessential commodity and a means of sustaining life. Shouldn't cost of water supply be subsidized if necessary? What's the reason for increasing the price of water after all these years? We are told that it's to raise awareness of the water conservation. Is this the real reason for raising the price of water or are there other reasons which some of us here are still speculating ......

Everytime I want to do a bath shoot I go to your house as you provide dry towel, hair dryer, slippers etc. to the models beside the free hot water. :bsmilie:
