Top Gun
This movie immediately came to mind as my all-time most-watched movie. Me being an aircraft aficionado aside, this movie had the best aircraft cinematography ever. Up to this day, some of its unused footage is still being used in bits and pieces of TV series, other movies, etc (eg. JAG). I would think this movie inspired a generation of kids to aspire to be fighter pilots.
Meet Joe Black
Liked the storyline for this one - 'Death' manifests himself in human form to learn about humanity. Interesting to see the scriptwriters' interpretation of how a man who had everything would plan to live his last days. Casting of Anthony Hopkins and Brad Pitt was excellent, plus Claire Forlani is so lovely. Watched it so many times but will still watch it if I'm surfing the movie channels and it happens to be on.
Star Trek: First Contact
My favourite of the Star Trek movies, starring my favourite Captain Jean-Luc Picard fighting my favourite Trek bad guys, the Borg. First appearance of the Enterprise 'E' and 'quantum torpedos' in the movies. Captain Picard is shown to be human for the first time as he seeks vengeance against the Borg for his earlier assimilation in the TV series. Watched it so many times on DVD, I've even tried watching it in Spanish for a laugh....
Also, the following have been watched umpteen times but couldn't quite make it into my top 3:
Trainspotting
Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels
Snatch (um, notice a trend here? lol)
Ip Man
Star Trek: Nemesis
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Love Actually
About A Boy
Two Weeks' Notice
Ironman
X-Men: The Last Stand
