24-70mm f2.8 vs 17-55mm f2.8

Haha the reason why I chose this two lenses is because of the f2.8

agreed, if got money i will go for f2.8 lens

if u know u going to upgrade to full frame next time, 24-70 is better choice.

Yeah I like the 24-70mm more also. But not as wide. So maybe for the wide end I'll use my kit lens ^^ I doubt UWA converters work right!

Dun stick those UWA converter on ur 24-70mm pls. Use a proper UWA if u need that kind of wide.

Whatever angle I see through the viewfinder of FF body via DX lens, will be the same as the image taken?

no. Focal length is absolute. it will give you a focal length of 17-55 whether mounted to DX or FX body. On a DX body, it will give you FOV of 25.5mm - 82.5mm. FX body it will give you FOV of 1mm to 55mm with lots of vignetting.

well. i wouldn't say useless. You can always sell it. 17-55 is the best standard fast zoom for DX cameras. If you use the 24-70 on a DX body, it becomes 36mm-105mm... you lose the wide end.

Then get the Sigma 17-50 OS. If still think it is too ex, get the tamron 17-50 non VC.

If you want the best, you have to pay.
