1st time reservist: what to prepare?

I got the black duffel bag just before i ORD.
then when your field pack inside is sbo n helmet, then where you put your standard field pack items? don't need to bring them is it?

Before the 1st ICT, there should be a briefing as to the SOP items for the unit. I guess most units' SOP should be quite standard, with abit of difference. Things like helmet, SBO, fieldpack, messtin, kiwi+brush,personal hygiene kit i think are sop.

Aiya, not to worry lah. Juz bring what you have. Always have time to get the rest from e-mart later. Juz make sure your uniform fits! :bsmilie: After a few years, sometimes pants is too tight.

In army, especially reservists, must lower IQ by a few points. Act blurr sometimes. Juz do what is necessary. Don't be hero, otherwise alway kenna extra duties when your frienz are resting. NOT unless you like this kind of activities lah. Always have a point and shoot smuggled in somewhere, never know when things can get interesing.

1 x No 4 shirt + slacks
1 x PT vest + shorts
1 x green socks
1 x PT shoes
1 x pack of candles + lighter
1 x mess tin
1 x fork and spoon
1 x insect repellant
1 x kiwi + brush
1 x torchlight
1 x bootlace
1 x toilet roll
1 x jackknife
1 x whistle
1 x ear plug
1 x pair of gutters
1 x rifle cleaning kit
1 x sewing kit
1 x toothbrush/toothpaste/shaver
1 x soap in soapbox

and of course, SBO with all items (2 x waterbottles, mess cup, unit insignia, toggle rope) and helmet :bsmilie:

Still got full pack inspection?? Then high key lor.. Anyway, if 'old bird' unit, tell commanders full pack items at home ie messtin, jack knife, black tape, need to book out to take or buy!!!

since every unit/vocation got differnet SOP, each of us should receive a letter with the list before ICT commence

actually in all my MOB recall, i only kena once full pack inspection which was last year. during ICT, normally just pack full pack with the necessary stuff can liao

depends on what rank u are.

3SG u can get back ur cab fare.
But even though my rank super low I can get back at least half of my cab fare back since my camp's damn near my house.

I still got use it sometimes during my active days lah.. Like rappelling and SOC, other than that its jungle hat lor.. My helmet is still lying in some dark corner of my storeroom.. :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

For ICT, my unit, 1st day normally bring SBO and helmet can already. They will then brief on what to bring on 2nd day.

For MOB its all the full pack items man.

bring along ur credit cards incase ur platoon mates have nite out activities....keke

IPPT? If u dun wan RT train hard for that, cos most ICTs have IPPT test.
