1st time reservist: what to prepare?

Doing my reservist now. Many things have changed in the army but some things never change, rush to wait, wait to rush.

The army is still not good at time management. I still do not understand why we must in process or book in by 0730 hrs. It should be changed to 0830 hrs.

Book out today on Saturday, no five day week for reservist ?

Army day starts at 8am. Thats why so early.

who says the NSF's in the respective reservist units are exempted in *administering* the reservist inpro/training/outpro?

open your eyes; you'd be a better photographer for being able to notice things going on around you.

Inpro: Monday, Outpro: Friday.

The camp is empty only left the duty personnel. Talked with the trainers and they are getting off in lieu for training us on Saturday.

Sehsuan, so you're there huh! Hehe.. Yup they didn't call me up actually! All of my army friends went except me.. I actually called up the MINDEF mob hotline this afternoon, entered my NRIC no, but the computer replied me that i have no mob, or it has ended.. strange ya? :dunno:

Oh yeah. You're not the only person who had that - one of my fellow MR'ed HQ personnel had that "either" message too. But he went back anyway!

Eh, actually there's nothing to print out, as it's a recorded telephone system that told me i don't have any mob.. but i DID called.

guys, since we're on the topic of NS, nowadays when mindef impose each and every NSmen to logon & check the M I W website for their ICT schedules, does it imply that there'll be no more 100As to be dispatched by mail?

by doing this, they are indirectly telling NSmen that ignorance is no excuse for not turning up for ICT, since they assume that each and every NSmen shd make it a point to check regularly.

also, if true, how to do makeup pay claim from employer?

From what I understand during my last ICT ... they will soon be using e-SAF100 ... They will send you sms and e-mails ... asking you to go to M I W to check and acknowledge ... They will keep doing this until the system recieve an acknowledgement from you ... Otherwise when it hits the cut-off time, they will activate the runner system and go knock on your door ...

Pay claims can be filed thru the M I W website also .... The bottom line is to keep you M I W info current .... That how the SAF going to contact you in the future .....

Behyx, I didn't get to see you just now at NS. I was one of those checking the MINIMAL personal equipment before inpro... I did see Gerald though (Witness).

If i remember correctly, got big sign informing you tt cameras are NOT allowed in camps.

Anyway, out in field, handphone (w/o camera) is a lifesaver. Depended on it during field trainings locally and overseas. Phone bills run into the hundreds!

Cannot leh. Out in the field, you dump your best friend/camera for a rifle/wife and have an affair with a HP. :bsmilie:
