    Sensor cleaning

Yep, its a pain cutting the Pecpac. At s$2/swab(16mm), if you need 5 swabs per body, its only $10. A lot more reasonable. Too bad this doesnt ship to SG. Will check out my lens first, Last resort is to bring it back. Btw, is it safe if you shine a small torch thru the front element, and you...

    Sensor cleaning

Hi, Yes, the dust spots was removed by Panny. Think they outsource the Servicing, have to made 2 trips & wait couple of days. Beside Eclipse,is there other proven choice ? On another note, I bought a cheaper alternative swab from Amazon last year...

    Sensor cleaning

Hi, I just did some sensor cleaning (using Eclipse) on my equipment. No problem for my DX & FX body. But on my Panny GM5, no matter how many times i swab, the cluster of few dots on the image hardly move. (you see the same pattern of dusts on all the test shots, it might offset slightly if the...

    E-PL7 vs GF7

Hi, I was considering GM5 & GF7 recently for a 2nd camera, finally went with GM5. The lower price, tilt screen and build-in flash definitely made the GF7 very attractive. But what win me over was the EVF on the GM5. Makes holding the camera so much more stable than using the LCD, esp for...

    Close-Up filter... Vignetting a concern ?

You should be correct, Yodobashi list the 250D/500D sizes up to 58/77mm only. Did some google, seems the dual element Canon give better IQ than the cheaper single element filters. Will see what i can pick up from my next Japan trip. Rgds

    Close-Up filter... Vignetting a concern ?

Hello, For example, Sigma 50-150, the focusing range is 1m to infinity. With the filter, the range will be (example only) 0.5m to 5m. So the focusing range becomes smaller. Correct me if i'm wrong, I suppose with an increase in diopter strength, the focus range will be reduce further...

    Close-Up filter... Vignetting a concern ?

Hi, So far, i'm considering the Canon and Hoya, Thinking to start with either +2 or +4. (i suppose higher diopter will further restrict the focusing range?) Raynox only fit up to 67mm. WIll be using on Nikon 24-70 & Sigma 50-150mm, and maybe Panny 12-32mm with adapter. Tks

Hey.. Looking to get a Close-Up filter, most probably a Canon 250D or 500D. (or any specific model worth considering...Hoya, Sigma ?) Have not use one before, is vignetting a concern when using Close-Up ? Cos trying to decide which size to purchase. Thanks

Sensor dust 'move' if focal length is change ?

Hi, My understanding is that, if the dust is above 'that particular pixel', no matter which lens/focal length, it still on that same pixel, dont understand why it could 'move'. In-camera correct could be a possibility but that 'correction' seems a bit too much. I'm sure its on the...

Sensor dust 'move' if focal length is change ?

Hi, Observe a funny situation. My panny GM5 (with 12-32mm lens) got 6 dust spots, 3 on upper left edge, 3 on lower right edge. At the widest focal length (12mm), the spots are about 10cm from the edge of my PC monitor. (at 100%) But when the focal length is at (28mm), the same spots are...
