S5Pro unedited, un-enhanced, un-PP photos for technical discussion.

Good bokeh, beautiful colors - as expected from a Fuji. Not sure about the sharpness, though, coming from a Carl Zeiss.

I just bought a new Fujifilm F31fd from eBay... huh?

Over the years, I must have owned at least 20 cameras - point and shoots and all manner of dslrs - Olympus, Fuji, Canon and now Nikon. Of all the cameras I owned, only 3 have earned my respect - the Olympus 5060, my current Nikon D300 and my F30. And of all the cameras I mentioned, the one I...

    Opinions on AF-S DX Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED lens?

The 18-70 is a very solid piece of glass and certainly a superior "kit lens". The 18-135, despite its attractive range, is not a good lens. The 16-85 is optically better than the venerable 18-200 but twice the price of the 18-70. The 17-55 2.8 is considered the best DX zoom available but very...

EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM or AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro?

Canon wins on build and quality, but many have found the Tamron to be sharper.

    F50 vs. F31 (comparison)

I too own a F30 bought about the same time as you. I have bought and sold many a compact and dslr since then, but I have never contemplated selling my F30. It is simply put, quite an amazing camera. Takes beautiful pictures and the videos are very good.

    S5 Pro or Canon 5D

Yes, although the colors are different from what you will get from a Fuji. When I first used my 40D, I was disappointed that its pictures looked flat, almost dull (compared to my previous Fuji/Nikon) but I realized that Canon's straight from camera colors are actually much closer to the actual...

    S5 Pro or Canon 5D

I have used the Fuji and switched from Nikon to Canon recently. For out of camera images - there is no argument the Fuji wins hands down - and I refer to all the Fujis, S2 S3 and S5 - note: they all produce images differently. Yes, you can post process, but that's not the point. Sometimes...

    S2 Pro compatibility with SB600

A question. I have a S2 Pro and recently bought a Nikon SB600 flash. Looking at the S2's great compability with the older SB flashes, is the SB600 too much flash/technology for the ageing S2 Pro? If yes, then maybe I should downgrade. If no, what advantages do I get from using the SB600? Thanks.

Checking shutter actuations on S2 Pro

Thanks, Photophilic, but that cannot be done on my S2 because somewhere along the way, the numbering sequence was changed when a new CF card was used, so the numbering does not reflect the total number of pics taken. Saw on another post that a guy got a reply from Fuji Japan (through Fuji...

Checking shutter actuations on S2 Pro

Hi. Does anyone know how to check shutter actuations on a Fuji S2 Pro? Does not work with Opanda Exif, for example.
