I did too, on Tuesday. ... It really does. ... That depends on the shape of your pockets. A similar built-in grip would make that end of the camera thicker. I agree. The grip looks too much like the OM Winder to be only a coincidence. Thanks! I hadn't noticed that. Yeah, me too. It's...

[ Vanity ] How are you wearing your E-M5?

I have a Gariz "gun shot" strap on my new E-M5. I borrowed it from my Fuji X10 and attached it to a D-ring screwed into the tripod socket. I have a Gariz half-case on order. I will use it with the same strap when I don't need my HLD-6 battery grip.

Poll: Will you get a grip for your new OM-D E-M5?

I have a HLD-6 battery grip. I find it very useful, but I don't have a second battery for it yet. :complain:

Who own the Olympus OMD 5

I have a black E-M5 on loan from my camera dealer since yesterday until the silver one I ordered arrives. I am just starting to learn how to use it, but I have taken 700 photos already, some of them awful! :bsmilie:

The video was made by "chan patrick". Someone added a comment to ask if he is Patrick Chan, the Canadian figure skater. I wonder if it is him :dunno:

    [ Vanity ] Olympus EM-5 accessories thread

I bought a uWinKa ULH-48 for my M.Zuiko 12mm f2. It is well made, fits my lens properly, and looks great. I haven't had it out in bright sunlight, so I can't say how well it works.

That's true in some parts of the world, but people are getting silver E-M5s in North America ... but not me yet. :( I'm still waiting. :dunno:

I stopped in Henry's in downtown Toronto this afternoon. They have received their first few E-M5's, but my silver 12-50 kit hasn't come yet. Henry's also got a few HLD6 battery grips and flash units. The guy I spoke too didn't know if they had any batteries.

Thanks. Fixed my typo. My brain knew the difference but my fingers apparently didn't.

There aren't any BLN-1s on eBay yet. I'm set up to get daily niotification emails when any are listed there. However, Gariz half-cases for the E-M5 showed up on eBay for the first time today. I use their half-cases now on my E-PL2, X100, and X10 with their bandolier style "gun shot" straps...

Camera always seem to ship from Japan without batteries. Something in their postal regulations must forbid mailing them. Can a Japanese forum member explain it better? I'm just guessing.

Yes. Any good core 10 or faster card is fine.

The battery you linked to doesn't look like a BLN-1, and the price is unrealistically low. I have spare BLN-1s on order at Henry's and I've seen several other places that are taking orders, but nobody has them in stock yet, not even Japanese dealers. Maybe someone in Japan knows better. If so...

I doubt that anyone but Olympus dealers will have them anytime soon. It's a new design that won't be easy for anyone else to copy. Have you tried Japanese dealer websites?
