Ice Queen - IR model shots

Dennis, I've never tried red reflector, but I find that golden reflector gets the subject more *illuminated* than silver or white ones.

Ice Queen - IR model shots

As a self-critiqe I probably could have done better with a reflector or two. Getting correct lighting for IR photo is more tricky than regular photos IMHO. We cannot really predict how IR lights will behave. And of course you also have to deal with that focus shifting problem... Or, we can...

Ice Queen - IR model shots

The concept is - as you can guess - Ice Queen. I have come to a point that I don't bother to flip the channels and stuff. I feel IR is best presented as (sorted by preference): 1. Black and white 2. As is 3. Channel-swapped For these pics I just apply glow filter and resize it in Picasa...

    bali in another light

These pictures are very good. Bali with its blue skies and abundant sunrays are indeed ideal location for IR shots, as shown in these pics. I did have a few shots myself but I'm afraid I prefer to process in B/W rather than false colour. I've lived in Bali for a year and a half in 2005, so...

Panoramic stitch of Mt.Bromo, East Java

Hi all, Just want to share a pic I took @ Mt.Bromo, East Java. This pic is taken from the looking point called Penanjakan, about 2-3 hrs hike (depends on your physical conditions heheh) from the nearest accomodations. Of course you can always rent a Jeep and get there in no time at all. The...

    IR modified Canon

I have a modified Nikon D50 also. The mod is permanent - they installed the filter right in front of the sensor. It enables me to compose through viewfinder, but the downside is I have to make do with whatever filter installed, no experimenting with different brands of filters.. I use IR...

    D70i conversion issue

Billitone, Just heard from the elusive Mr. H that your cam is ready. How are you going to get it back to sg? :dunno:

    Bright Hill on 11/3/06

I prefer the white leaves. I noticed the light green leaves technique works better on minimalist pics.

[Ugly] IR @ Marina City Park

Like the coconut trees. Agree it seems a bit overexposed. Perhaps you could experiment with different exposure time. I find that different exposure time yields slightly different colour when channel-swapped Regards,

    IR at Esplanade Rooftop

Thank you for the comments, guys... @pandaong: I use Sigma 10-20 for pic No. 3 and 4, and Nikkor 18-70 for pic No. 1 and 2 I found that the Sigma gives me a hotspot (however faint) in the middle of the photo. I need to stop down to f/8 - f/11 to get the hotspot gone. The Nikkor gives...

    IR at Esplanade Rooftop

Hello all, Just took my IR-enabled camera for a stroll one late afternoon, and would like to hear some comments re the result. Perhaps the channel swap is not for everyone's liking. I prefer B/W IR myself, but I can't resist swapping the channel considering how beautiful the sky was then... I...
